I personally don't care about resets until capturing planets have some kind of strategic purpose, in other words until they affect some kind of economy, logistics and there is some kind of end goal or "victory" for each faction to work for, that capturing planets helps with.

But if PGI needs a reset to evaluate how their latest changes affects CW balance then they should go ahead with it, anyone playing CW should be aware they are beta testers and that resets, nulling progress made and drastic changes are to be expected.

A big final event like Tukkayid would be nice though.

This is why I asked what the benefit would be to resetting

As far as I know there is no benefit for winning a planet. No benefit for keeping a planet. And no penalties for losing a planet.

So what would be the point?

Im not trying to be rude or attack PGI, Im just not seeing the reasoning. Reset it, or leave it.. seems the same. So why bother?

Because a reset gives them a better chance to test the new algorithm

They need to do the reset or they can't actually do anything to increase CW population, like other events. Plus, now that we have seen how fast planets can be won/lost the whole 'seasons' thing makes a little more sense.

But what about advancing the timeline? I don't want to be trapped in 3051. Can we be trapped in 3039 instead?

yep if it's been broken all this time it needs to be reset. after all it is in beta. reset loyalty points as well since they were earned under a broken system.

Map reset good, especially to fix things.

loyalty point reset, I don't think would happen, at least I hope not. How would that work, take away all rewards earned so far? Plus no matter what, well, at least for us small groups/solos, loyalty pts take awhile to get.

But wouldn't that mean you can earn everything again?
