With the recent event "Prove your Alliegence" damage totals were the best way to get the match score for the event (I think I am correct, correct me if I overlooked something). It goes against the purpose of CW entirely with its more objective based map and win conditions design (Except for the counter attack modes). Please make the win conditions that are not only on based upon damage or kills for CW, or match the event with the actual purpose for the game modes, like CW. If people really want to play deathmatch the public que already addressed this need of game mode. It really makes people that want to have a more complex and dynamic mission but instead be more frustrated at the design and progress of MWO related to CW.

Personally Opinion...rant...

If the defenders had to retreat to a pickup/dropship in counter attack mode after their base was destroyed it would make the game mode much more strategic than most kills. Strategically why would any army leave units on the battlefield if it cannot support them, units that are working completely/near completely (after the dropship could pick mech that are retreating to safe area)? CW was suppose to be for more simulation players of battletech right? If the defenders mobile base is destroyed in counter attack mode, let the remaining units fall back to a retreat zone. Basically this gives them a reason to pull back and cover their losses. The put in a retreat dropzone with a time limit at that point if the base is destroyed. Additional destruction of the enemy defenders mech/structures when they are retreating is THEN counted toward a C_Bill bonus NOT before. Shouldn't strategic goals or win conditions far outweigh deathmatch win conditions (like invasion mode), especially in the case of counter attack?

...Rant over....

Speaking of which,,, anyone know of any news feeds (on this site or on twitter) to have repair and refit in for CW? Is that only on stage 3 part of the CW developement? What happened to the roadmap that was made for CW a while back, the end of last year?

Positive Constructive Criticism...mostly...
I am glad the PGI is working on a tutorial for new players and hope it can be included soon. Many people who just jump into CW matches that are new can get frustrated as the missions are generally more complex than pub que. Though it would be nice if PGI could expand on the map size of CW and make bases larger more complex. The maps for River City need to be expanded much more though for pub que, especially in the case of Conquest/Assault, as it would give players more tacticle options to use.

I'm not sure you understand how counter attack works.

Either you are holding the territory, so defending the base, or you make retaking the base so costly that they cant hold it, and thus you win.

Or you are counter attacking, which means destroying the base so they cannot call in another unit to support them AND you have to dislodge the defenders inflicting more losses on them than they do to you.

In Battletech, war is economic as much as it is territorial. You want to inflict losses without incurring any of your own.

And bad pilots will always be bad, I checked my Tournament page, and in 20 drops my lowest score was 124 when I solo dropped against an 8 man that made extensive use of cERPPC and cGauss.
