Ok I think it was very sneaky to have the 50% off mech bay sell for 1 day. I remember I was playing everyday for weeks around that time. I missed 1 day and it was the mech bay sell. I have not seen it yet and would like another one because it was messed up it was only for 1 day... I was playing everyday for at least 3 weeks, miss a day going to my brothers to hang out around new years... and BAM missed the mechbay sell like really....

There also was a 45% price reduction event shortly after. If you want free bays, go playing CW. Afair the 2nd level loyality rewards includes a mechbay. You can do that for every fraction.

Otherwise just buy them. It's not like they are terribly expensive.

Don't....

I think MechBays are to cheap - with the option of free MechBays - there is no reason to keep them at this level - increase the costs towards 1000-2000 MC per Bay :D

Thats a really stupid idea. Mechbays shouldn't even cost money they never did in the other games...I still cant believe the pricing model for these so called free to play games. Cost infinitly more to really play the game at it's best, who wants to grind for months to get everthing when you can just buy it and get all the perks right off the bat? Meh gaming has really gone down in quality, it's simply too expensive to make a real game with a great story like lets say mass effect.

bays did cost "real" money in WoT.
and well you can have 5 MechBays and some MC for really participating in the game (for 1 out of 9 factions) - so a bigger price shouldn't be a real problem.

im still trying to fill 5 mechbays from the last time mech bays were on sale. also been steadily wining them in events, i will be up to 40 bays total next time i rank in cw. mech bays have become so easy to obtain in the game that buying them is almost pointless. i used to say only buy mechbays, but that is no longer true, with how liberally pgi hands them out. empty bays are as good as useless. cbills have been whats holding me back filling those bays. so id actually throw that bay money at premium time.

Sorry for being late to the party but which other MWO games did mechbays not cost money?
Or did you mean "similar things don't cost money in similar games"? Which is rather a different comparison, as not everything cost the same in all of those games so whilst some had thing X free and Y at a cost others had thing Y free and X at a cost.

anyway... Mechbays are a sensible cash generator as they are a comparatively cheap ($1.67 to $1.20) barrier to accessing content you can gain for free. So if you never buy anything else and just max out your mechs then the developers can still make a stead couple of bucks a month off of your gaming.

It's also possible to never have to buy one, it's just inconvenient and gets in the way of peoples urge to have the full set of everything. So it's not really a hard barrier or a tax, just a "better" version of the game your playing for free.

It's so funny how people are against ANYTHING that costs real money in games.
Everybody wants to play free, yet everyone wants the game to go on.
The expenses have to be covered by "the others".

An "everything for free" mentality will ruin everything in the end.

Great sentence. I should (c) it :-D

And even more interestingly, all those with the "everything for free" attitude are also the ones often seen bad mouthing and throwing sharp and ugly Harpoons at the "Whales", as they call them, every chance they get.

Talk about shooting yourself in the Leg actuator. ;)

I'm the first poorscrub/spacepeasant to call for lower prices, but Mechbays are the only extremely fairly priced item PGI has for sale as is!

Complaining about missing a flash sale is dumb, if you really care that much then pay more attention to the news section.

That's probably the most garbage opinion I've ever seen, mech bays are about the only thing that don't cost an arm and a leg.

First they had a MC sale - and I bought some 3600 of that....

Then they had a 50 to 1 GXP conversion sale - and I bought about 80k of that....

Then they had the 50% off Mech Bay sale - and a bought about 24 of those...

Then the IS mechs went on sale... and I bought about 15 of those....

Then the modules went on sale - and I bought nearly one each of every IS weapon module...

Then they had another GXP conversion sale - and I bought about another 10K of that...

Seems to me the sales work well to promote purchasing activity, at least in my case.

A deal is a deal.

I have FIFTEEN empty mech bays. I would LOVE to give ten away. How I wound up with that many, I have no idea.
I have a 14-15 or more mechs too

Which begs the question, why cant' I sell mech bays off?

The most crazy sales are when sales for really popular holidays happen (Black Friday, Christmas, New Years Day)... and maybe a few PGI/MWO specific "holidays" (launch day, PGI anniversary). I would suggest checking on a Thursday on PGI-patch day/times...

I kinda hate the flash sales, but it can't hurt to check up on the website or even the frontend to see if a sale comes up.
