I speak German and English fluently, with some French.

Ever since I could speak enough English I played all games in English and therefore will also play MWO in <insert your guess here>. :)

I prefer to have my gameclient in english, even though i'm german. The reasoning behind that is rather simple, i play with a lot of international players, sharing the same game enviroment. It's a lot easier communicating if everyone uses the same basic names/expressions, something that can't be garanteed if everyone uses localized clients.

A misdirected vote in my opinion.

-) Why does it matter what languages I speak? There is only one language on the internet, that is English and there are only two kinds of people: the kind who speaks it, and the kind who does not. If one speak it, then he can be part of the "community" as a whole. If he does not, then no matter how much I would love it, he would just not fit into it anyway.

Take this forum for example. Would it make any sense to you, if you would not understand English? Hardly.

Disclaimer: I know people are using languages other than English, but I also believe that the world would be a much better, much more peaceful place, if we were all speaking the same language and since English is without question the most wide spread language of all, we might just as well pick it to be the official language of the planet earth, just as it already is the de facto official language of quite a lot of things.

-) NO.. NO NO NO NO NO.. I cannot emphasize this enough: NO to localization. One of the easiest ways to learn a language is by using it. Hell I should know, I picked up English simply from playing computer games and watching movies / series, with no other learning whatsoever. Localization eliminates the need to learn and as such it is one of the reasons the language barrier can and does exist. I understand the financial motivation behind it, people are more likely to buy the game in their own language, but please.. at least we, the players should not be asking for things that at the end of the day only make our community smaller by fragmenting it along national / cultural borders.

Even english not one around the world. Aussie, Canada, USA, British, zealand - they all have their own english. Which one we must choose as official?;)

Just join a Mech Corps for your language only. Otherwise suffer what is coming and good luck playing with randoms.

Yes, because of how wide spread the use of English is, there bound to be local differences from one place to the other. It is not prohibiting however, as all native speakers there will most probably understand (and use) common English if they care enough.

So which one should we choose? Luckily, that has already been answered for you, wikipedia to the rescue:

English will be good for me, they should'nt waste time translating for us 7 swedish players =p

English, Spanish, Arabic, in that order seam to be the most important I thinks. Most younger Germans and French peaple speak very good english, or they should learn ;)

Besides English and pirate I also talk my native language being Dutch, I don't feel a need to have it added though as English generally just sounds and feels better. Wouldn't mind translating some stuff though.

Just do it by server if there's going to be an option. World of Tanks did it that way, and for the most part you could communicate with the people on your team...though I think some of them couldn't read or comprehend the movement of little red dots even.

Wow i couldn't`t have imagined so many people speak so many difficult languages.
As for me im ok with just Dutch and English.

But most likely i will never encounter a game which has an option for Dutch in-game text (which actually makes sense).

Afrikaans should obviously be the primary focus as the main language during development.

pfff, ya lo veo en inglés, al menos espero que el juego meresca la pena y no sea solo el nombre. Por favor al menos intentarlo de sacar subtitulos para los demás idiomas, gracias.
