Just played a couple of games. First one was very close as you can see. Great score for the Raven H, with 896 dmg, which is unusual for a raven, but he was the last of their team so was alive the entire match. Good player too, killed 2 of the remaining 3 of our team.

Second match was much easier, the raven pilot was on my team this time. Short game, only 4 minutes compared to 8 minutes for the previous game. Raven's dmg? 869.

I didn't think twice about the first game, I suppose a high dmg of 800+ can happen occasionally in a light such as a raven, but doing almost exactly the same damage in the next match in half the time?

Could be a smurf account playing in a lower tier than he should be in, just taking advantage of guys that react slowly when being fired at etc? other than that i dunno *shrugs*

But a raven? Can a raven push out that much firepower in a short amount of time? If it was a meta heavy or any decent assault I wouldn't think twice about it. A raven?

The RVN-H is a brawler Light that can output a large amount of DPS as long as it is ignored. It's not as good at high tiers, but at low tiers where people seem to be unable to shoot a moving light mech, it can constantly do a lot of damage.

If you're thinking aimbots or something, that's the last mech it would make sense on considering it pretty much only uses SRMs.

Also Light mechs don't do that much less damage than any other mechs, especially the case in solo queue.

Back when I was grinding out Urbanmechs, games like these were the constant norm for me:

Granted I was doing it in a LFG group to purposefully get to carry the team every match haha.

But yeah. The Raven is the third best light mech in the game. 800 damage for several games in a row isn't surprising. I've been doing it in the RVN-2X.

If this is a smurf account, then it's even more likely to happen.

Again, the Raven is a meta Light mech. Shed the idea that Light mechs should be doing a lot less damage than heavier mechs. If they aren't doing at least 300 or 400 in a pug match, then that Light mech player screwed up.

If a Huginn can find one or more disconnected or unattentive assault 'Mechs, that damage is the least I'd expect it could do.

SRMs are not good weapons, but because of their scattershot nature, do inflate damage numbers to a large degree. Given the Huggin's tripled fire rate on SRM4s, 900 damage in a Huggy is definitely believable.

Found another one. Your screenshot was 8+ minutes to do 806 damage. This is 6:50 to do 989:

If I seem overzealous about this it's because the idea that Light mechs should only be aiming for something like sub 200 damage every game because they're "scouts" really, really annoys me.

50% cooldown on Huginn SRMs. Standard build is 2 SRM4s. That's 17.2 damage every 1.5 seconds. It's pretty much impossible to overheat. If you don't take your finger off the trigger you can run dry in about 2.5 minutes with an 8 ton loadout (100 volleys).

Huginn's weaknesses are ACHs and FS9s, Clan Streakboats, and people who can shoot legs. If a Huginn is allowed to run dry, 900 damage is pretty easy.

Honestly, the SPL Lights are just a superior option to the Huginn since in real matches you tend not to be able to expect to just stand there emptying shots non-stop into mechs that don't give a damn about you.

I have screens of two matches where I went 752 followed by 795 in a 25-ton Koshi using two small pulse, two machine guns, and an LRM5. Granted, I was with friends, so we were a lot more lethal in our coordinate and intel sharing, but those numbers are entirely possible and fine particularly if you're carrying long range, high damage gear.

The Huggin? Absolutely.

It doesn't cop the same bad press it did a few months ago as the ACH has taken the limelight, but against a target large enough to eat every missile in an SRM spread, the Huggin is peerless. Terrifying. A grim, garishly painted specter of death.

The Huggin has possibly the highest DPS in the game, it's just spread out all over the place.

For a while, the whining about the Huggin was spectacular. Search the forums for it - some of it is quite entertaining :)

Definitely. Matchmaker gave the Huginn 2 favorable matchups for damage farming as long as those MDDs weren't loaded with streaks.

Missiles are great at doing lots of damage without really hurting anyone. I have had 1k+ matches with a Griffin with 3 ML and 3 SSRM2s.

Yeah a Huginn can. It basically has quirks that let it fire its 2SRM4 about 2x as fast as normal. Add in the MG bonus damage against internals and you can post high numbers if you carry enough ammo.

You can do the same numbers in an oxide as well easy enough.

I. Strongly beg to differ with your impossible to overheat comment.

Have you driven one of these things? They're hotter than Oxides.

Because of quirks, this is what the CPLT-A1 Raven-H is capable of, DPS wise.

50% quirk+17% Module+FF, that's a 67% reduction in cooldown, or 33% RoF, or 3x firepower. 6SRM4s, with artemis if you want.

It has a 0.99s recycle, so 8 missiles every second.

Let it fire 60 times, it may deal 1000 damage (but, heat, facetime, CoF and other factors don't allow for that). It's perfectly believable if he actually thought to SHOOT the enemy, unlike many PUGs.

Thanks for explaining guys, all is clear now. Don't think I've seen a raven achieve anywhere near those numbers before, and seeing it twice in a row set off some alarm bells.

Only been playing a couple of months so you'll have to forgive my lack of knowledge about some of these 'mechs.
