How about having a floating targeting indicator so that high ping players can tell where the server thinks a mech is.
For example... I have a PPC. I'm trying to hit a firestarter travelling at 140kmh circling around me, 100 metres out.
I shoot the firestarter where I visibly see it (plus PPC velocity compensation). The shot lands perfectly, no hitreg.
I shoot the firestarter 20 metres in front of where it is displayed on my screen (plus PPC velocity compensation), I get hitreg and a leg flies off.
Having a floating target indicator based on HSR and ping should give me (vaguely) a target location to determine where the mech is, rather than just guessing by leading a target randomly.
This will help high ping players hit fast moving targets without pure luck or forcing them to use streaks or other low skill weapons. Using PPC's or ballistics won't have an advantage because it won't tell you where to compensate to hit a moving target, just where the target actually is at that point in time.
