this is for people who have been here for more than 6 months. have you reduced your MWO play time? or completely stopped? or increased your playtime of it?
whats the reason?
for me it has been reduced.. kind of a temporary break till more maps come out (even for CW).. and due to hig pings i have started to get after last 2 patches. so my game time is now down to 1 hour or less every day

Remodeling a house and buying another really cuts into my time. Hopefully be back to normal mid-May.

That CW itself, while fun has gone stale for me. At first I loved it but now that the new shiny has worn off I find myself not a fan of the maps as they lead to very one dimensional engagements. I like them but there are some things about them that I would like to see redisigned (wont go over that here as they are all points many people including myself have made) and more importantly I would like to see new game modes.
New maps for either cw or publics would be nice but if they induce the same senarios then there really is not much new about them. What we really need are some new senarios. Maybe a convoy defense or something.

Even if the thing i'm doing wasn't around, it still wouldn't be the games or PGI's fault, but the dumb assed pugs i'm getting saddled with.
If CW was properly populated I have to say while no fan of its design I would do it exclusively as even the pugs mostly play with some inteligence in CW, in Pugland if you find intelligence its a surprise

I have the mechs that I want, but the quirk changes being so numerous have me waiting even to play non-cw matches since the game seems so in flux at the moment.
A lot of it is the case that there doesn't feel like there is any lore to anything beyond the mechs looking good. Every time I think about updating I just go to another game instead.
I still want to like the game, which is why I check up on it every now and then, but I'm not going to spend any money on it in the foreseeable future.

Why? Well, the typical game seems to have become that we all use FOTM / META builds, go to the same positions on the same maps and shoot each other with the same meta builds time after time after time. And why? So that we can earn more c-bills with which to buy more meta mechs so as to go to the same places on the same maps to shoot at each other with different meta builds. Someone once said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different outcome.
What I play now is, amusingly, almost entirely CW.
How this could be fixed? Firstly things other than meta builds should be made viable. Couldn't care less right now HOW that's done but I'm sick to death of seeing laser vomit stormcrows, wubshees, "timbergods" (I predict that once the JJ animation for the timberwolf is fixed the river of tears from poor pilots who think they're good because of the jj animation shield will be EPIC), LL-equipped 4Ns etc etc etc. Every match, every map the same mechs all the time. Great way to spend what little gaming time I have.
Secondly, given the awesome history and lore that comes with the Battletech universe, WHY do we have what amounts to little more than team DM games? Fine, all modes except CW are fine... For Solaris arena matches... But this should be only one small part of the game! I want to take part in huge battles with objectives and opposing battalions and objectives and multi-phase missions that have objectives. I want to feel like I'm a small part of a very large WAR. Put the damned WAR back in to Mechwarrior!! That being said, I'm not at all sure that the Crye engine is capable of that sort of grandeur, but that ship sailed a long time ago didn't it.
In short, I want a non-repetitive reason to keep playing.

Toxic people who won't let people play how they want without a thrashing, lack of balance, and CW being for big groups only.

I tried to come back during the first weeks of CW, but with work and getting sick over the X-mas holidays and the shadow of nerfs hanging over the forums, I find it hard to want to come back, even now. Shadowrun Returns mods and SWTOR are keeping me busy for now when I'm not trying to get in at least 2-3k words a day.

Prior to open beta and post reset, I've averaged roughly 11 hours a week.
I do know in closed beta I probably invested maybe 1 to 3 more hours a week than now...
Take from this what you will.

Add to that that I have worked everyday since September last year minus 1 week for X-mas break, and I just don't have gaming in me any more. I play a bit here and there but Why play a game that goes no where?
