[Koniving]

So, sitting back I've taken a moment to look at the ranks for each faction in MWO.

Kurita has its lore-appropriate ranks. Gunsho for example.
The Clans all have points, star commanders, etc.
The Davions have their ranks.

But then I look at the Liao ranks. And I see... not what should be.
This is why I looked at the others, thinking maybe most factions just got generic ranks. But this isn't the case, so far as I can tell all other factions got their proper ranks. Even Rassalhague got their Kavellrist!

So what did Liao get?
Recruit
Corporal
Lance Corporal
Sergeant
Lance Sergeant
Master Sergeant
Assistant Force Leader
Force Leader
SubCommander
Commander
Captain
Senior Captain
Major
Senior Major
Lieutenant Colonel
Colonel

...Really? Granted these are (somewhat inflated) ranks from the freebie version of the House Liao handbook...
The ranks are fully defined as:

Zhong-shao
Jiang-jun
Sang-jiang-jun
Chancellor (obviously ineligible for this game).

(Actually from what I saw, Steiner is kinda broken after a certain point).

I am fairly certain that the chinese ranks does not get adopted till after Sun-Tzu starts the whole xin sheng thing. Until then we are stuck with the generic ranks.

Parts of the game are already 3052 so you can read into that what you will. That being said, another bump for this thread.

Actually Clan Warriors 1-5 also seem kind of silly. Looks like PGI simply took the largest list and inflated other lists to its level. Not too much of an issue for me anyway.

Then again, i doubt that o so many players know the difference between a Shia-ben-bing and a Sang-jiang-jun. however, most player will know the difference between a Recruit and a General.
