Guys... you asked for a joke mech, you got a joke mech. Now you're complaining that the joke mech isn't viable enough? It's a joke mech. Were you really expecting to be running it in CW? It's not even as bad as many of the mechs we already have.

Compared to the quirks the clan and some Resistance mechs have, these are a decent first iteration.

for a joke mech. they put in alot more quality work then we norm get. all the horns and such are much better then any of the last packs. the 20 buck pack was well worth it, if pgi keeps pulling off stuff like this they may make a name for themselves.

oh Goody the R60L will be so MEta, it has velocity and range boosts on it's AC20!!!!! (I have it on good authority those are more important than cooldown, 4 reals!)

To be fair, you aren't going to fit a whole lot of ammo with an AC20. Going 53kph you can mount an AC20 and 3 tons of ammo, not to mention the fact you have to use SHS to pull it off, so a cooldown quirk wouldn't be super useful. The small pulse quirk is more of an insult since you aren't going to mount a small pulse on top of an AC20 meaning it can only get benefit out of one type of quirk.

All of the new mechs released recently have had extremely modest quirks initially. They're likely to get improved come the next quirk pass.

Same amount of ammo, either way. On a slow mech, with Light Mech Armor. Personally, I'd rather be able to burn thru that ammo before I pop like a pimple. HBK-4G or GI type cooldown would at least let you use some or most of that ammo before dying...and maybe take something with you.

At 53 kph, ain't like you are looking at playing the long game, or shifting positions all that much.

Different strokes for different playstyles, I reckon.

Or the existing mechs with quirks that are too strong will be brought down to the newer, more balanced standard.

Hey I can dream , right?

I honestly can't tell if people are joking when they say they wanted the urbanmech to be better or not. As far as I'm concerned the entire thing was a waste of time over proper issues but the community asked for it knowing(supposedly) that the urbanmech could never be a very viable mech by it's very nature. This isn't the tabletop, you're not going to roll a headshot and hit the cockpit

What kills me is seeing the video of an urbanmech going faster then the Adder and with jumpjets. Why the he hell is the urbanmech a more customized then a ******* omnimech? Freaking silly.

It's the same speed, not faster.

Also, all IS mechs are currently more customized than Omnimechs, that's their tradeoff for using IS equipment and not being able to swap around hardpoints.

I'd also point out that all of them have been pretty effective, and thus not NEEDING world class quirks. The point of quirks is to give some degree of parity, after all.

Perhaps the Urbie will surprise and not need world beater quirks either, but I would say the odds are not in favor of that conclusion.

And in truth, not terribly worried about the severity or lack of, for the quirks, just wish they would better represent the mech, like the Hunchback quirks do.

But I also admit, I wanted a 30 ton, jumping Pancor Jackhammer, lol.

Yes...so of course, your way is the only way the game is allowed to be played.....

Try a looser headset, it might stop squeezing all the fun out of your brain.

This is the part I just dont understand. Sure I am all for everyone running whatever the heck they want on an urbie and I am happy that the other 2 have more universal quirks but running an ac20 raven with full armor I get one jumpjet and 3 tons of ammo at 99kph, that build works but barely and sure ac20 on an urbie sounds like a lot of fun but if its less useful than my borderline ac20 raven its just gonna be a wasted quirk for me as I will go other weapons.

Unless you know someone sets up some weekly stock urbie private matches but we need a proper city map to do so.

Being left behind by your team's Dire Wolves will probably be a new experience...

I like the quirks, you will need to play smart but it may just do ok. Its definitely mobile enough.

Cant wait to find out. :)

basically, to run the urbie with an ac20? Not really all that good.

To make it works basically requires a maximum of a 75 XL, if you want 1 JJ, an ac20 and 3 tons of ammo. And to do that requires almost a ton light on armor.

probably closer to how I'd have set them

Except not LBX10 quirks. I really just wish they'd gone with better generic quirks and some heat reduction on energy weapons too. We're gonna have a HOT mech if it's built for energy.

Yep, and due to space constraints using FF and ES to even carry the heavier ballistics, you're going to end up using SHS for alot of builds just because of slot limitations.

Some small Energy heat/range quirks for all Variants would go a long way in offering some flexibility with more conservative loadouts.
