Gas is right, fixing this is literally changing 1 number value from 1500 to 2000. The max draw distance for the weapon is the only thing that needs to be changed as damage falloff is already working correctly.

I do think that fixing this minor bug would give IS an unneeded advantage when it comes to extreme long range, on the other hand fighting rarely happens at that distance anyway. Boreal and Alpine are pretty much the only maps where fighting from 1500m+ is a realistic option.

You know this because...

1500 is okay in Alpine and maybe starting at Forest Colony.

The real objective of getting 900m+ base range for IS ERLL is to do full damage beyond CERML range (800m+) to get more favorable trades against clan mechs that load up on 4 or more CERML. I think without quirks, the max range with Tarcom7 with CERLL is 870m so if an IS Mech with 900m+ range can trade at 900m or so. The clanner can't use ERML and does less damage with every other weapon.

Kinda sucks in a brawl cause having 4-5 ERLL runs a bit hot, it's specialized in that way. Clans can run 4 ERLL too but most prefer CLPL and CERML spam so they tend to lose out.

I made a 911m-945m ERLL IS drop deck and I can literally stand out in the open and force clammers to duck behind cover past the gate when they approach and all they do is tickle my paintjob (again the problem is if clams force a brawl you're gimped).

You can make a Tarcom 4 CERLL mech with range modules and it does close to the same thing. Instead of quirks you gotta slap on the Tarcom 7 but since CERLL and everything else are so light weight it's okay. I like running around with a 4 CERLL Timby though I should probably use something with higher mounts like a HBR.

NKVA/Kurita in general, make more threads. Not too many more so that they lose quality and charm...

But please, I demand more. I'm thankful for you guys.

If you're in a clan 'mech and you can't kill an equally sized IS 'mech, at any range, then the IS pilot is just better than you. You guys are playing on easy difficulty level in those things. Shouldn't be a challenge to kill us at all if you're any good.

Would be nice for IS mech lasers to hit at their correct ranges.

So let me get this clear...

It's all great to use 12 clanners instead of 10 from lore & use loadouts with insane battle values, but when an IS weapon out-ranges a clan weapon...
