Saw MS drop with FRR tags last night. Looks like they're back.

And its a good thing folks. With NS, 228, and now MS here, loyalists need to take this time to train up, drop along side these units, and take notes. We are going to be fighting Clanners to take back FRR worlds, not defend other Houses' planets. We will do what we can, but we need the loyalists to help as well.

"The More Things Change"
Woke up this morning on the wrong side of bed
I got this feeling like a train's running through my head
Turned on my radio to the same old song
Some big mouth talking trying to tell us where the world went wrong

But all this talk of peace and love
It's only for the news
Cause everytime you trust someone
You end up getting screwed

The more things change
The more they stay the same
Everyone's your brother till you turn the other way
The more things change
The more they stay the same
All we need's a miracle to take us all away from the pain

Came to this morning I was feeling mighty used
Picked up the telephone but all I got's a major attitude
Turned on the TV to the same old news
Everybody thinks they got the answer to the same old blues

Like a hot smokin' pistol on a saturday night
You gotta go for the throat
You gotta fight for your life

The more things change
The more they stay the same
Everyone's your brother till you turn the other way
The more things change
The more they stay the same
All we need's a miracle to take us all away from the pain
Take me away

Like a hot smokin' pistol on a saturday night
You gotta go for the throat
You gotta fight for your life

The more things change
The more they stay the same
Everyone's your brother till you turn the other way
The more things change
The more they stay the same
All we need's a miracle to take us all away

The more things change
The more they stay the same
Everyone's your brother till you turn the other way
The more things change
The more they stay the same
All we need's a miracle

The more things change
The more things change
The more things change
The more things change
The more things change
The more things change
The more things change

Some are, but they're being quiet about it, which basically means they aren't acting Goon-like, making them much more pleasant to have around. You can go to the SomethingAwful game forums, do a little reading in the MWO section and figure out where/who they are.

Quote

But, in case anyone missed them (No? Didn't think so) MS are the new Goons.

If you see -MS- players acting like stereotypical Goons during play, we'd want to know about that and will address it.

If you mean that you think we have excessively large numbers and influence, I understand, but that's the nature of the beast.

Thanks QueenBlade. Good dropping with you guys last night.

And he's right, MS will happily share our approach, tactics, and builds with anyone who is interested. Hit us up in faction chat or drop by our teamspeak (ts.mercstaralliance.com), find an officer, and if we can fit you into a group we will.

Heya Tommy-boy, In regards to the topic at hand, I feel more like:

Let me ask you one question
Is your money that good
Will it buy you forgiveness
Do you think that it could
I think you will find
When your death takes its toll
All the money you made
Will never buy back your soul

And I hope that you die
And your death’ll come soon
I will follow your casket
In the pale afternoon
And I’ll watch while you’re lowered
Down to your deathbed
And I’ll stand o’er your grave
’Til I’m sure that you’re dead

Never trust a merc -- and never pay them! Once you do they start hanging around, stinking up the place and drinking all your beer.

Sad they never wrote a song about getting off of someone's lawn.

MS are Mercs so they go where they are going to get fights, Cbills and LP. I have had matches with and oppsite them, they are tough and good fighters. Do they run Metas, sure but so do other units. Loyalist units will have a little more control of attack/defend lanes, if Russ's plans for CW phase 3 go ahead (check Last Town Hall).

If you want better merc controls then push for MRBC, until then of course they will fight for whomever, whenever, over whatever.

For some reason MS isnt well loved by FRR. I know its a game though so could care less, a few of them seem like ok types. A few need shot on sight for being my nemesis. Maybe a flamer in the rear if they are on my team.... By the way, where did they go? Havent seen them in a drop lately. Who ticked them off? I ask becuase look at our territory.

From what I have seen, whenever the FRR hub mix group faces Mercstar, there is a significant chance their nerd rage levels go critical. It's not everyone from the FRR hub but there are a select few there that wont work with -MS- as a matter of principle. Me personally, I won't deal with that **** and would be perfectly happy crushing FRR players (as a matter of principle).

They seem to do better being goody goody with 228th so there is still some hope for the FRR yet.

Issues arise on the FRR hub when -MS- players attempt to run a mixed drop as if it were a dedicated -MS- drop .... Apparently -MS- fails to remember/recognize that 50% of us on the FRR hub are either drunk, asleep or watching porn while we are playing MWO.... the other 50% of us are making plans for getting drunk, falling asleep or what porn to watch.

In summary -- the FRR is here to fight because we like to fight -- punching people in the nose and getting punched in the nose is all equally enjoyable. Win, lose or draw -- its all good fun if blood has been spilled. An -MS- KDR- W/L Accountant is not going to find us very receptive to their direction, nor are we going to be receptive to their negative views on one of our players less-than-meta LRM-SMPL build (Hell we find it quite funny -- every Viking longboat needs one warrior whose helmet is too big and who holds the axe backwards)

-MS- Should Make A Video Like This And Open And Register There Old And New Employers And Battle History Etc. Will Make MechWarrior Online A Better Playing Game So People Will Emerge On The Game I Personally And I Want !!! I Hope PGI Listen I Want Custom Logos Like In MechWarrior 4 Mercenaries Where You Can Make A Logo I Think 16x16 Logo And Put it on The Knee And Shoulder To Represent Your Unit And Also Have A Planet To Visit For Mercenaries Contracts For Me I Am A Clan Guy A Fierce Fighter

I Am More Of A Clanner And Respect The Leader And Rank Of [Khan] Am A Fierce Fighter And Fight For Honor
And Respect I Am Loyal To The People I See Worthy Of My Respect Like Some Friends I Met In 2000 And Found Them And 1 Still Plays Hes Name is Black 6 He is On The Davion Side My Other Friend is Yameon He
Plays Guild Wars 2 :/ I Know Them Since 15 Years Ago :)

I Am A Clanner But Not A Bad Person Ask Black 6 How I Am
Practice is 1 Or 2 Shot Mech Destroy
All The Clanners Should Be Good Sometimes I Get Headache

I Hope Community Warfare Becomes Like This Video And Capture A Planet During A Event To Get Access To Prototype Mechs Like In MechWarrior 4 Mercenaries Prototype Mechs The Templer And The Zeus

Some members of the FRR refused to work with us as well, up to and including writing PMs to state as such. We are Mercs as well, and come tomorrow we will be moving away as well with our debt paid in full.

To respond a little more directly, when playing on the FRR hub, most of the times the players who are getting angry with our lack of play-style or basic "Shoot them in the face until they bleed out their bottom" tactics are dedicate Merc unit players -- that can start to make you jaded.

There are also many loyalists, not only from FRR but all groups, who find the lack of bonus' for being a loyalist and lack of penalty for being a merc a little frustrating. As human nature dictates when there isn't a natural control to an unpalatable situation (such as rules or laws) then some people will start to make up their own controls.

Personally, I DON'T like playing with Mercstar, not because of the people (for the most part they have some really nice guys/gals playing with them and some of whom I LOVE being paired with in PUG matches) but their singular dedication to "The win" interferes with my desire to shoot stuff in the face (usually at my own peril) -- even when there is little point to do so.

Take it for what it's worth -- you are a Merc -- on a bad day you will encounter some people who hate you and on a good day you meet entire factions who hate you. :)

You should be more worried about holding planets and not throwing matches and less wound up over what you are getting for being a loyalist(which last I checked was +50% LP). Not much left in the FRR right now to be a "loyalist" of.

Us loyalists wouldnt have anything too worry about if the mercs were not going and winning the clanners more planets then we have too take them back. Are you mercs stupid or something the point is too beat the clanners not go win for them planets and then come here and complain we cant hold them, which is why we keep losing them and is the problem with CW. PGI needs too get rid of mercs and make it IS vs Clanner, then we would see what is what.

The issue is that mercs have no role in the game as it stands (for that point neither do loyalists) so everyone is making crap up as they go along and many people have just opted out until it gets straightened out. Given that planets don't matter -- and we will always have one planet to fight from what is the point in worry to things like who owns the most planets -- you see, right there, that is the "Stat Accountant" crap (worrying about how many planets one has) that is "Ignore-worthy".

Merc: "We have 30 planets!"
FRR Loyalist: "And?"
Merc: "We win CW!"
FRR Loyalist: "Do you win beer for winning CW?"
Merc: "no"
FRR Loyalist: "Do you get Bacon for winning CW?"
Merc: "no"
FRR Loyalist: "So what do you get for Winning CW?"
Merc: "we get to say we won!"
FRR Loyalist: "Sounds like that's important to you so, congratulations, I guess -- but the prizes suck. So what do you do next?"
Merc: "We join another faction and take all the planets back!"
FRR Loyalist: "Why?"
Merc: "So we can win CW again!"
FRR Loyalist: "Wouldn't you rather take up drinking?"
Merc: "What do you mean?"
FRR Loyalist: "Never mind."

(this conversation was intended to give my impression of how the roving merc units I've encountered and the FRR loyalists I play with, view the game -- it is not an actual conversation)

Who cares about the dam planets ? It's the nature of the beast, as Khereg puts it: it'll be reset...
