The Bounty Hunter

You could for instance make "him" into something of a Bogeyman during matches. Randomly showing up to hunt down the commander or the teammate with the highest K/D ratio. Even better yet use "him" as a club for Trolls or other such under-dwellers of the online gaming world.
With this random fear could come some perks. If the Bounty Hunter is taken out the team gets extra $$$ for the kill, or special equipment salvage things of that nature.
Any thoughts yea nay or other ideas for such fun use of Canon material?
WHAT SAY YOU ETHEREAL WORLD OF MECHWARRIORS!!!!!!!

There are not enough "THISs" in the world
Instead of blowing your money on repairs or mechs or equipment. You can set aside some vengeance money to put hits on players you don't like, but don't have the skill or time to go after yourself.
But if they frag the bounty hunter/hitman/whatever. not only do they get his stuff, they know who sent him.

True, Mercenaries will be pleased to take up those chores. I'd rather see a limited use of AI/NPC having an impact on the outcome of the battle. It is not satisfactory to see a Player being eliminated just because you, eventually, dragged/lured the player near an AI/NPC able to return fire.

(And he's not even the real bounty hunter at the time of MWO)

There is no "Real" bounty hunter, he's basically the battletech equivalent of the Dread Pirate Roberts. "Well the Dread Pirate Westley just doesn't invoke the same fear, does it?"
The most likely holder of the title in the MW:O era would be a person named Vic Tavers, who was at least the third Bounty Hunter to exist.
It is extremely unlikely that Natasha Kerensky's Marauder had Clantech, probably Star League era lostech. Though that would have been equally devastating on the battlefields of 3015 (when the BH captured her MAD) The Dragoons were intentionally limited to "primitive" mechs like the Imp, Firefly, and Annihilator that the Clan believed should not be out of place in the Inner Sphere. Largely because of fear that the Inner Sphere would get their hands on any advanced Clan technology.
As to having the Bounty Hunter show up randomly, I don't think a random element to it would be very sensible. The Bounty Hunter (at least until he turned his sites on the Blakists) was most widely known for hunting down criminals. Particularly ones who were "Wanted Dead

But only if the Marauder is actually in the game. Putting the Bounty Hunter in anything else would be an insult.

Unless they hold off a year and put him in a Timber Wolf, this would be agreeable to me.

For the record... I'm opposing the idea of an AI "bounty hunter", "repo man" or whatever. Waste of system resources and coding time IMHO. And let's not even start about the realism factor, unless you want that character to appear like in every 1000th battle. And in that case, I'd rather have PGI spending the time on something more essential, sorry.

Agreed, I could see the Dev Team using the Bounty Hunters lance to take on players without having to use names like "Developer 1" etc.
Their team would be limited in size to that lance while the OpFor could be whatever number of players randomly drop against them.
