Atlas Hunters Maintenance Bays

"... un dos tres... living the vida loca..."
"Hey Boss, what was that you were singing?"
"Woah! Ah... hey... ahhh..morning Nightjar, ahhh... what ya got there?"
"ummm.... chocolate..."
"Thought the Adj and the CMO made it clear you needed to sort the weight?"
"I was.... getting it for you?"
"Yeah... and I was just getting my parade boots for your backside. What else ya got?"
"Oh this? Dunno... looks like a sales pitch for those new rides McKenna's team stole off the Clanners last month. Found it stuffed in the helmet locker in one of them, the one she seems to have taken a shining too"
Ironhawk took the flyer and started to read...
"Clan Snow Raven, Ravens Watch Hellbringer Guillotine edition, the next word in efficiency and convenience and the epitome of our ethos, waste nothing.
To economise on time and reduce wastage of potential salvage during Trials of Grievance the Crows Nest Special Mech Division (CNSMD) have some up with an elegant solution improving upon Clan Hells Horses' design. The first step was adding the one thing the short sighted Horses forgot. Armour.
Next was equipping a trio of Large Laser units together into a compact housing next to the pilots left shoulder to allow the ability to put beams on target precisely where intended and within a very tight grouping. Extended Range models are fitted as standard reducing the chance of the Watch member being identified. Your anonymity is your greatest weapon.
Each beam is delayed by 0.5secs to allow the preceeding beam to perform its assigned task. The first beam burns an 80mm diameter core through Armourglass allowing the second beam to remove a similar sized core of the pilot without suffering any refraction issues. The final beam removes all traces of sweat, hair, makeup and other miscellaneous biological materials from the seat back, along with the seat back itself and for convenience sake, the pilots personal effects stored in the locker behind the seat.
Four machine guns are fitted as a distraction device, to cause the victim to pause and open a channel to laugh at the ineffectual 12.7mm solid rounds flattening themselves uselessly against their armour. This allows the Watch member the time to smirk before cleansing the now stationary cockpit. As an added bonus they are useful for beginning the removal process of any insignia to speed up salvage turn around times. A skilled trueborn may even be able to put a few through the Laser burned screen to ricochet around the now vacant cockpit and sweep away any offensive superfluous decorations mounted there.
ECM is fitted to ensure Watch anonymity is maintained and to assist the Tech Caste in their salvage operations. Resources are at a premium. Avoiding having to dispatch multiple witnesses and thus taxing the techs salvage and recovery teams with more than one unit to recover at a time is desirable. Satisfied techs reduce equipment failure rates.
Future upgrades include utilising the vacant head mounted weapons hardpoint for a high pressure fluids delivery system, for the free births among us, a hose. It is envisioned this would be triggered immediately after the 3rd beam to begin the sanitisation and forensic cleaning procedure, further assisting the Techs in reducing the turn around times for repatriation of the salvaged unit.
Clan Snow Raven - Waste Nothing, Trust No One, Befriend Everyone, Become Invaluable"
"So the freaks aren't born in the cockpits. Hellbringers huh? Nice name. Cold hearted lot aren't they. How long before the techs have them ready for a shakedown run?"
"Yeah... about that. Ravens already taken "her" one out..."
"She's what??"
"Yeah... the thing is... we've been monitoring her for the last 20mins and well... its like she's driven one before... which is crazy talk but still... she's moviing that thing round like its attached to her."
"Where is she now?"
"Just follow the crowd, sir... She's on the range. Some pretty scary accurate scores so far too. Those lasers are reaching out over a k!"
Ironhawk turned in the direction of the training grounds and headed off down the corridor, Nightjar, chocolate smearing his face, in tow. He pulled the file on the recovered Hellbringers up on his PDA and once again played out the events that lead them to Keira's team finding the wrecked and abandoned dropship with the five new looking and surprisingly undamaged mechs inside. So many questions...
He blew up the image of one machine in particular. Taking the next corner without looking up he handed the pad to Nightjar and said,
"That ones mine"
On the screen was the gleaming barrel of a huge Gauss rifle in the side of one of the new Hellbringers.
Join the Atlas Hunters, drink, laugh, shoot the bad guys and take their stuff. But above all... look good doing it.
