I started playing mechwarrior in 1996. The first games of which being MW2:Mercs. The game in my opinion was flawless. The action was great, the customization was there, and the missions were awesome and really difficult. Unlike MW4 mercs where you could lose a mech, and still have 30 to spare, MW2:Mercs really punished your failures, often leaving you with your light mech you left for your copilot. Money was tight, and missions could go from a sinch to a pinch in a heart beat. But that's where the fun was. Did you want to take part in a dangerous 3 million C-Bill campaign spanning months, or play it safe with a 300,000 C-Bill search and destroy mission? Did you want to save up for that atlas, or buy a cheaper mech and another pilot to help you out? The decisions were left up to you, as the gamer to make, and for each action you took you were rewarded or punished severely. This helped to keep you on your toes, and out of your comfort zone. You never knew what you were going to encounter. Along with all of this, the game had pages and pages of story to go along with every single action you took, whether it be in your character's diary, which shed light in the conditions surrounding your arrival, or the news broadcasts, which let you know how your specific actions effected the area you were in. It felt like I was playing a game and reading an awesome book simultaneously. You just don't get that kind of thing with modern games.

Now with that out of the way, there was one core game play element that's been left out of mechwarrior that was in its earlier installments. The ability to see your mechs armor status. Now I'm not talking about your mechs current health left on the battlefield, I'm talking about the post battle status of your mech, where you could see every single point of damage your mech sustained, internals that were destroyed, and etc. This was an awesome feature of the older games. I can't tell you how cool it felt when I decided to put that few extra points of armor onto my mech, thinking "ah what the hell, you never know when you might need that 1 point", just to see my mech's center torso with 1 point of armor left after a rough battle. Now I know that MWO allows you to go into battle damaged, so hopefully, you'll be able to see how much armor you have left on each part of you mech, and repair it individually.

TL:DR
MW2:Mercs so awesome ZOMG
Bring back the ability to see mechs armor status post battle.
