Mechs with varied load outs had their place then. SHS allowed for longer TTK. At the end of the day closed beta despite its flaws , bugs and other things was a better game..both visually and graphically not too mention RnR and other factors.

My DRG-1C with AC2 4Mlas and an SRM4 wrecked face in the very first RHoD, earning me over 600 dmg in a couple rounds (which was a lot in 8v8)

Either one of those builds is slower, yes, but has tons more sustained firepower and will hit harder from longer. That DRG build runs way too hot with only 11 SHS, 12 if you cut a ton of AC2 ammo.

SHS would work if PGI had a better heat scale that similar if not exactly too that of MWLL.
