Greetings MechWarriors,

We will be performing a brief maintenance today at 5:00 PM PDT. This maintenance period should last no longer than 5 minutes, but it will affect all services.

We will send out an in-game warning countdown leading up to the maintenance period.

You will not be required to install a patch when services are restored.

Hmmm... I'm kinda wondering why this wasn't done earlier (even 1 hour longer on patch day doesn't hurt as noone knows the difference).

Because it was to fix an issue with the patch

Apparently, a lot of people had trouble with their patcher, and this down period was supposedly to resolve the issue. So the grapevine says, anyway.

Only they know what is the problem and apparently it was urgent enough to be done ASAP.
Or it could be a simply hardware faulty that required urgent attention but needs down time for it to be done properly.

Moral of the story...
This is IT... Things happen and you can't cater for urgent/emergency issues on your maintenance windows.
