After going over the new clan quirk passes, it can be seen that quirks are based on pods and their weapon hardpoints. The quirks try to create a balance between different pods by giving bigger weapon/armor advantages to less favorite ones.

However...

The only exception to the pod system is a mech's CT. CT can not be changed through the current omni construction system. Naturally some mech variants have superior CTs compared to other variants of the same chassis. mechs like WHK-B, WHK-C, DWF-S, DWF-B, etc, etc.... AND every version of IFRs other than the prime.

A single weapon hardpoint may be negligible on big mechs with loads of other hardpoints. BUT... one less CT weapon hardpoint on an IFR-PRIME can mean as high as 25% less weapons. That is a huge handicap all by itself. (apart from making it arm-dependent)
If you add quirks to the picture, you'll notice that apart from identical non-weapon quirks across all CTs, non-prime CTs get additional quirks for their CT mounted laser too which applies to the entire chassis and increases that gap even further. (despite the fact that CT can not be mixed and matched and that it is an entire mech).

I was expecting some more advantages for the IFR-PRIME CT to make it closer to its siblings. Like higher numbers for current quirks (or lower numbers on others). Or new creative ones like higher heat cap... or crazy high numbers for cool downs/heat/range (IFR-prime can not boat anything...so crazy high numbers will not create another thunderthug9S)

I hope i could explain my point here. Its not about comparing IFR to other mechs. its about the balance between variants of single chassis.. specially when the gap is as huge as this (which happens to include a special (i) variant in it)

Can i get an answer on this?

Please?

That has less to do with PGI's decision making, and more to do with the decision of the creators of Battletech back during the 1980s & onwards. That's just how the mech is built in the official TROs and whatnot.

That said some additional quirk or two to help compensate would be nice if it doesn't yet exist.
