...the ability to still chat within your group while waiting for the matchmaker to find a match.

Yeah, and everything else to do with the mech lab, sure it wouldn't save any changes, but it's somethin to do.

Or a working offline messaging system. How often have I clicked on the "email" icon only to get no message at all.

These are all something that I just don't understand why they didn't try and include at launch. Especially the chatting with other teams while waiting in the matchmaker as it's a pretty standard thing to do in most games now days.
