I am just slightly curious about how many of you guys who are interested in MWO, is just as interested, if not perhaps more, in Planetside 2. I personally have a huge love for this game, Planetside 1 was the first MMO I ever actually got into, and I am such a die hard fan of the game, and the new installment to the series is turning out to be very promising and I simply can't wait for it to be released.

For anyone who doesn't know what PS2 is, then let me give a small explanation, it is a persistent FPS MMO, gameplay is similar to that of the BF series (battlefield series) and essentially has you and whomever your with go around working together as a team to capture and defend various sectors around a multitude of maps, each map is huge and the gameplay rewards teamplay, if not requires it. The original Planetside was a Pay to Play game. However PS2 is going to be a F2P game, cash earned through essentially everything, killing, capturing, assisting, healing, etc etc.

So give your opinion on the game, tell us if you have any plans to play it, or even if you dislike it, not being prejudice, I want to hear all of your opinions, if you want to know more about the game, then go here and read up on it. I hope you all enjoy MWO as much as I will, and perhaps even PS2, good gaming all you guys!!

I'm interested but I'm kinda fatigued by regular style fps games. That's why I'm more interested in MWO as it is more of a mech sim. Planetside 2 does look pretty awesome though and I'll definitely get it at some point.

I am pretty excited about both Planetside 2 and MWO. They both fill very distinct genres that have been missing for a while. MWO as the tactical mech game and Planetside 2 as a massive scale action game. Terran Republic is best faction in PS2 by far.

If Planetside 2 can avoid some of the Mistakes of PS1, then it could be a real gem in online gaming. Im looking forward to it. As for wich game will be better... cant say. Both games have distinct differences. I could play both at the same time.

There is a reason I got the legendary founders package B), after all i do plan to play both, hopefully just as much, though will likely be a lonestar in both, would love to find a good guild/clan/faction/house/whateverelseyoucallit to play with, but none really ever fit me to well, but I certainly agree on the mistakes and such, if they bring in new innovation then the game promises to be awesome, not sure how I feel about the 1 maned tanks though, kinda liked the whole, gunner driver position from the first one.

I like PS. I played the first one from beta onward. The updates made it worse imo so I got bored with it and moved on. But those across the bridge to the tower battles in the beta/original release were awesome. Felt like trying to cross the Rhine with rayguns. I'm very interested in PS2 but there's no way it can overcome my love of Battletech. Gonna take something pretty huge to undo almost 30 years of nerd amore. I just hope the MWO gameplay doesn't let me down somehow and PS2 steps it up to be the winner. MWO would have to fail pretty hard and I have faith that won't happen.

It seems to have a strong concept and is impressive in terms of the scale of the battles but in terms of art direction and all that other creative nonsense it seems a little bland.

I will agree story design and general overall concept is a tad lacking, could use a little more spice if you know what I mean, Completely agree there, but from what I have seen of the massive artistic scale they have taken in the map creation and design for weapons/vehicles I can let a little lack luster storyline go unpunished hehe.

I signed up for the beta. I'm certainly willing to give it a look-see. I'm pretty disappointed with mmorpgs over all though.

The number of true mmo-fps games on the market is truly small.
Most games you can find are lobby based & instanced.

I'll definately go and try out planetside 2, but I'm also planning to try out warface.
The coop mission system of warface looks like a promising break from the usual PvP only shooters.

One of the main things that draws me to the game, is the open world persistence like in most MMO's, The only other FPS that I know of that has an open world persistence like that is Mortal online, and that, well that is just to "realistic" for my tastes, Ill wait for Elderscrolls online to get my medieval MMO fix, not sure how that one will turn out either, hopefully well, but Still gonna be going for planetside 2, thank god its Free to play, I mean theres nothing to lose that way, other than time.

The scale does seem interesting, and so far is showing off everything most people seemed to think BF3 was going to have but didn't... and for that price why not?
