Dear PGI,

I recently thought of something I now believe could make MWO a much different and very possibly better game in the eyes of a lot of people (and also would bring it even closer to table-top BattleTech).

The notion came by inspiration from the combination of three existing elements of the game (at the time of the original post, two of these "elements" were recent additions and the third was from earlier): 360deg torso aiming (from the UrbanMech); the deployable 3PV drone; and the pilot-look function (default is left Ctrl key).
The idea is this: to allow a BattleMech with neither lower arm actuators nor hand actuators the capability of deploying its third person drone and thereby to use the pilot-looking functionality for aiming at a point behind itself, much as in the BattleTech table-top game. The way I have imagined this working is as a brief-ish process of conversion from front-aiming to rear-aiming while the arm itself rotates about the shoulder. The pilot-look isn't going to be utilized by or influence anything else during 3PV gameplay, would it? (Maybe this implies some effect to the longstanding 'Mech stats concerning range of motion for the arms, but perhaps not. Actually, this is for MechTechs to determine.)
Such a thing obviously would be a game changer; please think of how many outcomes could be altered by one over-the-shouldr laser blast or AC shot. For those who love piloting the Jenner, the JagerMech, ...the RIFLEMAN... even the Yen-lo-wang (and plenty others), it could literally metamorphose the game as we know it while yet maintaining the uniqueness of our beloved UrbanMechs... especially if canon-style critical hits to actuators comes to the game (not requesting, just suggesting!).

Honestly, I have no technical savvy for discerning whether or not this is even possible using CryEngine, nor of the ways of 3PV's influence on arm aiming, but I woke up this morning with my imagination going wild at this particular thought. I am appreciative of what you have accomplished with this game, PGI, and, as always, I look forward to more...
...and I sincerely hope that you deeply consider introducing reverse-firing to this game we love.

Yours in the cosmos,
~GhostEel
