Are you sure you studied Wing Chun? Because I'm surprised you don't know there's nothing called Wing Chun Do, and I haven't taken a single lesson.

Except that there is.

Does that count? :P

It counts if you love the delicious Way of the Spring Chicken Wings!

Correct me if I'm wrong... But I believe I've seen Joseph mention elsewhere that he's studied in JKD... The inference is that his agility belies his mass secondary to martial arts. ^_^

I don't know, I don't know anything about him. Except that he posts way too much on these forums. I know what wing chun is, because it's one of the arts JKD rips off, but I've never heard of wing chun do. Alot of the trapping in JKD is from wing chun, but JKD isn't as passive as wing chun is. JKD is literally the way of the intercepting fist. Wing Chun Do isn't a thing, he's probably just refering to Wing Chun, which came before JKD.

Lol just looked it up, it's one of Bruce's students that decided to start his own brand of Wing Chun. No wonder I've never heard of it.

To be more accurate. It is one of Bruce's 1st Students, who was part of his inner circle of training partners. So it's as close to being Bruce Lee as you can be outside of his genetic heritage. ;)

I don't give a crap about that. The mech was fine, now we're back to erppcs being useless. Why are they even in the game? No mech can use them effectively. Ever play MWLL? If you haven't, you should.

What does Jeet Kune Do have to do with anything? Curious from someone who actually has training in JKD.

Bruce left out key elements from JKD that are used in WCD. At a seminar in our Local (ie only) WCD school Some JKD students attended and James read them the riot act for doing JKD instead of what he was showing. As Dan Inosanto and DeMile are drinking buddies and fellow former students of Bruce we can let teh two of them decide who's right. But my money's on James.

Just an update.

Mirumoto was generous with his time, and sat through a few outtakes that were completely my fault.

I've got the new STK-4N test recorded, I'll probably just make my own thread to compare all 3.

Unfortunately I forgot to shift the video from Fraps folder into my Google Drive folder. <_<

No, no it wasn't. It wasn't even close.

Laying aside the hit registration, SRM over-splash issues, and such; does nobody else remember the 9sl hunchback moving at approx 115kph? The MPL boat Awesomes that would strip a side torso in 2 shots on an atlas, while moving at medium mech speeds?

Remember? You mean that time when the "Awesome" was actually "Awesome"? Ya I remember. <_<

stuff

This game has too many levels of customization.

Now there is a complaint we don't often around here. The Stock weapons load-out of the HBK-4G would beg to differ btw. A few tweaks here and there for HS's, ES and a pair of AC20 modules and off you go. ;)

If you're meaning a Tue "Stock" Mech, then you might be in the wrong game.

If you ask that question that means either you never played a Hexa PPC Stalker or never encoutered one. PPc got 90m minimum range... Get in his face, no more Problem he cant shoot you at all. Also the pure awesomeness of that stalker was to go in alpha strike so yeah when it did it took a very long time to cool off which brings me back to the '' get in his face ( while its cooling)''. Dont forget that Quirks werent around when the 6 PPC was trolling.

So yeah D_DC brawler well shoot it from afar.
PPc sniper get in his face.
LRM Boat, same as PPC.
Laser boat well twist that torso.
The mech got a weapon for each range? Well Jack of all trades but master of none, they are harder to manage but potentially the most dangerous.

The only one that causes problem is the gauss boat since it does very well on long and close range.

Did you get a Solaris add-on before everyone else. If you can get to <90m then you earned it, but if I still have team mates alive, you will pay a heavy damage toll while doing so, unless I am the last man standing and then it is what it is after that. :)

My favorite is reading this thread and watching the same pack of rationally-challenged hypocrites go on and on about how you can't approach the Stalker with it's super lasers...

When those same shills can be found in other threads saying how the IS "let's clans win" by not forcing closer engagement ranges in the slower or more fragile, shorter ranged IS mechs.

Really, I have to say this is probably the most amazing group-level of cognitive dissonance I have seen for any game I have ever played.

To read these threads, a new player would have to make an assumption that the I.S. LL must have a minimum range or something. Just get close to it... LOL! ;)

PPC are not useless, just a bit non uniform from mech to mech.

JKD in mechwarrior one could assume it to mean: Know yourself, know your mech, know your opponent, know your opponents mech.. Use this knowledge to accentuate your strengths against their weakness.

Jeet Jixie Do (Way of the intercepting Machine)?

Pressing "R" works too. ;)

There is no minimum range, however there is a minimum amount of testicular fortitude required.

Well maybe PGI should put some testicular fortitude in the Mech Store and sell it for MC. I have seen many who would do well by buying some. lol ;)

My statement wasn't a complaint, it was a pure observation as to the features of MWO. Your example above (adding DHS, ES, etc), is the perfect example of the typical customization (er, at least for IS mechs) for this game, all which are easily available. To stick to pure stock builds is irrelevant as practically no one adheres to them.

Thus the Champ Mechs now available to Trial. Most if not all have ES and DHS, Stock. ;)
