So, while I know I have a working mic (TS works), for some reason, VOIP never works for me. Ever. I can press the button, talk, and... nothing.
I've tested this on multiple matches, and just never have any success. So I'm not sure what's up. I've tried remapping, adding a different key. But I press and hold, and nothing. It's not that I'm muted either, no one can hear me even going into a new match. I ask for a com check, no response, ask on Chat, and they say they heard nothing, even the people who are using the coms actively.
Voip

Does your name appear in the center bottom of your screen when you press your PTT key? If not, are you sure you have a PTT key selected in MW:O settings?
Maybe your teammates are trolling you.

My name does not, with either of the buttons I have assigned (Caps and f1)
I've seen some people say that they need to turn off and turn back on VOIP in the settings menu at the start of every match, but no luck in that either.
I DO know I have a functioning mic, since I've no problems with Teamspeak (And no, they are not assigned to the same button, TS is on left alt)
I really can't figure it out, it did work a few matches when it first landed, I think I tried changing the key then, and afterwards it stopped. So I tried to set it back, and still no good. I'm just baffled. It definitely made scouting during the CW event difficult to put it mildly.

Win8.1 and USB headset using the generic drivers?
You need to turn your mic amplification up to 95% and the ingame slider all the way to the right.
This will break Teamspeak, Skype, MSN etc. But the issue is on the ignore list.

No headset, and actually, it's Windows 7 Pro.
I do think it's that pressing the button isn't registering for the server or something, because I don't in fact see my name where others' show if I do.

It needs a volume threshold to trigger while holding the button.
Try yelling or flicking the mic area while holding button and look for name to flicker.
Also turn those levels up.
