So, I've been playing this game for a couple weeks now and I've been loving it. However, two days ago a problem set in. I can no longer turn. It seems to me that the A and D keys no longer work for the game, although they still work for typing as you can see here. Currently, to change my direction, I have to use the "Center legs to torso" key constantly. Making brawling impossible. Has this happened to anyone else? And if so, how did you fix it?

I thought of that. The thing is, I've had the joystick plugged in for the last 3 weeks. Why would it suddenly start causing problems?

Bad programming. No, I am not kidding. MWO is not the only game that can go bonkers depending on what peripherals are plugged in, and when.

Most games will ignore peripherals if plugged in after the game starts. So that one is an every game issue. While most games might lock up for a fraction of a second from the loss of a controller, MWO can will flip the table and have a panic attack while throwing a tantrum. If you're really unlucky it'll eat a PPC and crash.

MWO has many issues with ...lets be honest, it has issues with everything. You still can't just double click and change the controls without having to hammer the mouse some 30+ times to get it to work, something I complained about ever since UI 2.0.

I would suggest checking the controls for both your "Controller" and "Keyboard" in the MWO settings on turn left turn right and "Analog Turn".

have you checked your keybinds? try rebinding them to different buttons, testing them, then putting them back to A and D, and see how that works out.

Thx everyone. I unplugged my joystick and it did work. I've been browsing the forums a lot lately and I think I'm beginning to detect a negative attitude towards PGI...

Things appear to be getting better with IGP gone so far. We just wished PGI had done some things differently. As for the joystick, from personal experience this is not the only game that can bug out due to it.
