For the past few weeks I'd been experiencing severely frequent crashes, e.g. for a 4-6 hour MWO session I'd typically get 2 or 3 crashes to desktop and a further 2-3 server disconnections.

I tried everything: reinstalling, cleaning shader cach etc etc. to no avail.

The thing that appears to have been causing the problem was the Asus GPU tweak GPU overclocking program that came with my graphics card. It definitely wasn't the overclock itself: MWO never took my 760 GPU over 50 degrees C temperature and it remains rock steady in more modern, more demanding games.

Exiting the GPU Tweak program prior to starting MWO has changed my experience to being rock-solid with no crashing and bizarrely no server disconnections either.

I've put this topic in the general chat as this channel seems to get most of the attention. If one of the mods feels it ought to be moved then my bad, please do so.

Hope this helps someone else out there...

I've often found the Asus made tools to cause strange issues. Great hardware, bad add ons. My last asus card had tons of lock ups under the same condition. I'll buy their stuff, but run everything reference.
