1. LOL someone actually searched the name... That was my account, however I "transferred" it awhile ago. After getting the beta invite to WOWP, and the better clans leaving WOT, I saw no reason for me to stay there. Gotta love the kiddie that posted he played WOT since alpha and never heard of me, should have ran the search before running his mouth. Anyway I did hit the top three in the HOF before letting it slide and transferring the account.

I give you 2/10 for the effort...

yeah wot alpha tester and not even in the beta tester group... and I doubt you "dumped" your alpha/beta account since the reward tanks where only tied to the accounts registered... so much for that.

Another fun thing.. even when you "transferred" you account, even for a bad player it need months that avg. hitrate/dmg etc drops.( WoWP beta only started a few weeks ago).

So you weren't a good player to begin with.. but thats beside the point... the most hilarious thing is your twisted perception of what a "professional gamer" is.

A professional gamer is not someone who spents money on some games and participates in some minor game events... a professional gamer lives of gaming, aka they takes part in well payed tournaments and actually win them so they can live of this winnings, they have no other job beside playing games.

There are only very few western pro gameres and the majority of pro gameres come and live in korea where it is actually possible to do it because of the regularity of well payed tournaments.

Second... the Hall of Fame in WoT is a joke... the most important factor there is how many games you play, the more game you play the hiegher your ranking.

Also nice that you registered just today on WoWP.

Again somewhat decent to lackluster trolling there.

This seems to fall under the category of "RTS ONLY"

FPS/3PS pro players tend to be exclusively Western Hemisphere.

Ice Cream on the other hand is AWESOME.

I think you got a point maybe pickles are no good.

I have this Thai love slave (Lady boy) i been seeing for a couple years and she/it made me try to Durian. If you know anything about it, its smell is about the same as this guy is putting out. Just my thoughts

Overhaul the laser graphics they are a horrible and look “1990'ish”, make them thicker or at least have them fire as a beam in a sequence instead of all at the same time.(would be good for heat management as well, and would still deliver the same DPS) A good vanity item would be to allow the player to change the color of the laser, by inserting a different lens

I guess the player you saw using all four lasers at the same time did this to focus damage on a smaller spot which is more difficult if firing them one after another. And he probably knew it would cause more heat. Also something which is obvious to anybody who ever read one of the battletech books.
Laser colour, as i understood it, is depending on the kind of Laser you use, small, medium or large ----probalby something like blue, green and orange.

Sure, but I was more going for the total amount of pro gamers, the game doesn't matter so much. There are only a few playeres outside of korea that can make a living of gaming.

MWO also seems to be free to play and, correct me if I am wrong, pay to advance very fast. Premium accounts in WOT got 50% extra exp and 50% extra coin, I assume the same is true for MWO. In WOT you could buy(with RL money) premium vehicles, that for the life of them received 50% exp and 50% coin, regardless if you were a premium member or not, in fact if you used a premium vehicle AND had a premium account the bonuses actually stacked!(In MWO I believe these are called “Founder Mechs”) Also I am sure that for a price,(probably $9-$12 a month or 30 days) you can be a premium member in MWO and get the bonus exp and coin regardless which Mech you pilot.

Seriously? You are calling yourself a pro-gamer and are THAT badly informed. Judging by your profile you have played over 13k games and didn't even know that premium tanks ONLY give more credits... NOT XP...

Before you make wild claims research properly...

Who the hell should even give a **** about what you think if you can't even get your facts straight... not to mention your eff rate in WoT... its on Zombie player level... honestly not worth listening to someone who just dies their way to TierX

Even if you get paid to play games... they are obviously paying you to much...

I would say to the OP that your approach makes a lot of sense. I think this is how a lot of gamers are feeling these days. Instead of going "all in" on the promise of something a lot of people are now choosing to wait until they see before they buy. There was an article about this recently on Massively.com and I think it reflects a change in paradigm for online gamers. With several major titles failing to deliver this year - people are skeptical.

As for the OP's claims of being a pro gamer - that's neither here nor there because his point actually makes a lot of sense. Even myself I have to weigh very heavily whether or not I will buy the game ahead of time, and I can tell you when MWO was first announced it was more of a "shut up and take my money!!" sentiment. The big failures in the past 6 months are really hard to ignore. I can completely understand where OP is coming from.

Gotti

Yes, the games are being churned out, but fall far short from expectations. Look at SWTOR, yeah it is a money maker but changed many MANY times in beta becuase what the devs "thought" the gamers wanted was either wrong or could not be implemented into the game because of the engine/resource restrictions. Diablo3 was another major title that fell far short of gamers expectations, while many players felt that the RMAH ruined the game, the coin pharmers are making a killing, yet Bliz already lost 30% of it's core gamers in the first 60 days.(I can't complain because I am doing very well on the RMAH)

Now look at a really small title like Jagged Alliance Back In Action, short dev time, low budget, when it came out the vet Jagged Alliance fans trashed it. BUT the devs quickly added what the gamers wanted,(mainly FOW and better mob AI) and the game made them enough money to make a sequel.(of course them making a sequel is just a rumor - wink) Look at all the other titles that tried and bombed Brigade E5, 7.62MM, etc... This is the same as Xcom, this is commonly known as the best game in the history of gaming yet every copy cat dev cant get it right: UFO Aftermath, Aftershock, Afterlight, etc... Now UFO Extraterrestrials was "O.K." and the devs decided to let one of the top modders of the game actually be a dev and work on UFO Extraterrestials 2, which is supposed to be released later this year.(I am hoping it does well, gotta love Xcom)

Knowing that Piranha games does not have any history in online gaming or had anything to do with the original Mech Warrior series scares me. I WANT the game to be fun and a success, but I don't always get what I want, as I am not a 12 year old with a lollipop in my mouth. Nothing wrong with holding on to your money until you can get in the beta or wait for release. While I would be more then happy to cough up $120 to be a founder and enjoy the benefits, I simply do not want to throw $120 at a flop, so I will wait and see. Mech Warrior was released in '89,(the same year I finished my enlistment with the U.S. Army) so the majority of hardcore Mech vets are 40+, and older gamers expect more because we have seen more and are not so easily impressed with massive eye candy, but crappy gameplay. I was horrified when I logged on to see this thread today because if you read all of this thread you will see all the kiddie and troll posts, this is the MWO community? Really? The reason I started this thread has nothing at all to do with proving if I am or am not a pro gamer, it has to do with THE GAME.

I was going to multi-quote so that he could respond in like fashion should he deign to do so, but it kept telling me the number of open quotes did not match the number of close quotes despite my having verified they were, in fact, in order three different times. So you get an ugly commented quote. Enjoy.

The largest mistake the WOT devs made as to grow the game “sideways” instead of “stronger”, so they added more vehicles, but never passed the tier cap of 10. Is this the plan for MWO? Whatever the highest tier is on release will be the highest tier(for MWO I guess this would be tonnage) for the life of the game?

There are not tiers in this game. There are wieght classes, and different chassis (who by virtue of their torso twist rate and field and their leg-turn rate will probably be sorted into 'tiers' by the players, but the game iteslf will not identify mechs this way).

I saw in a video that a dev stated that money can buy you better vehicles, but it cannot buy you skill. What is in the end game for players like me that have skill and money?

The end game of WOT consisted of a part of the world map in which clans could hold territory and earn free gold for doing so.(gold in WOT could be bought with money, but not earned in game, unless in clan wars) Gold is what is used to buy the premium vehicles and premium “rounds” that penetrated armor a lot better at range but did not do more damage then the rounds you could buy with in game coin. Of course this was a massive money maker for the game as you had to defend your territory daily and EVERYONE used “gold” rounds for the fights. So win or lose the gold rounds were expended and were replaced. Is this the same plan for the end game of MWO? If so, consider the fact that you will have clans of very highly skilled gamers that will dominate the map, this caused quite a few problems as casual gamers simply got waxed every night and held, if anything, meaningless territories.

What ever happened to playing a game to play it? Tell me, sir, what is the "end game" for chess players? World championships? If the game is well-balanced and engaging, then I imagine E-sports programs will pick it up. Have fun competing in those events. The game itself does not need to support an 'end game'.

Overhaul the laser graphics they are a horrible and look “1990'ish”, make them thicker or at least have them fire as a beam in a sequence instead of all at the same time.(would be good for heat management as well, and would still deliver the same DPS) A good vanity item would be to allow the player to change the color of the laser, by inserting a different lens?

You went from giving advice to making a demand relative to graphical style? And if you're talking about using chain fire rather than group fire, then that's a player choice and should not be taken away (especially since group fire has been in every other BattleTech-based sim-type game ever). Why is this setting off my trollarms? Allowing alterable laser hues would allow masking of the strength of the laser. It seems fine until you realize you wouldn't be able to recognize a large laser from a small laser at close range.

Try to implement the least amount of player restrictions as possible. More player freedom means more player power, more player power means more player happiness, more player happiness means more dollars in your pocket.

Unfettered freedom is also a balance nightmare and - in the case of the Mech Lab - violates canon and reduces Mech Choice to one of aesthetics and/or just finding the mech with the best torso twist and turn rate. I'd rather see more than four different kind of mechs every match, myself.

There are A LOT of free to play, pay to win games in the market make sure you set yourself apart from them. A free play player should have access to everything in the game that a premium player has except for vanity items and premium vehicles, however should progress through the game a lot slower.(you would honestly be surprised at how many free play gamers will become premium members if becoming a premium member means you progress faster)

Have you read *anything* the developers have said about this? There go my Trollarms again...

Game modes and maps... Another mistake the WOT devs made, way TOO FEW maps and ONLY 2 game modes. Hopefully on release you will have no less then 10 maps and release new maps at 1 or 2 per month. I can think of a ton of different game modes, capture the flag, holding way-points or mini-bases, king of the hill, team death-match, etc...

Maps are good, I like variety, but maps take time. I'll also gladly take quality over quantity. 3 or 4 good maps beat the hell out of 10 ****** ones. Also, I don't think game modes are that vital to success if your one or two game modes are engaging and I, myself, find one-life death matches to be very engaging.

NEVER underestimate the intelligence of your gamers, when making Diablo 3 Blizzard stated that they knew that even with all there internal testing there were going to be power gamers beyond their comprehension. KNOWING this they still fell short, I have every class at level cap and most through Inferno, the game has not even been out 2 months. They have nerfed the game so much in the last 30 days, they lost an estimated 30% of their player base. I know it is difficult to keep casual gamers and power gamers happy at the same time, but you can't punish casual players and you can't punish power gamers or your game will lose it's appeal in the first couple months. The trick is too encourage casual gamers to play with casual gamers and power gamers to play with power gamers, without punishing either.(this is more difficult then you may think)

Lost an estimated 30% of their player base? Where, exactly, are you getting those numbers? You most certainly *can* punish power gamers. They make up a tiny fraction of the player base and as such are a completely trivial marketing demographic.

Do not believe that “content is king”, so many companies push games out with massive content only to see players burn through all the content in the first month, and the games dies and they wonder why. Content can ALWAYS be added or removed via a patch, the "king" of whether your game is a hit or a miss is core game-play.(Chess has been around for 1500 years and it is still a board with 64 squares and only 6 different pieces yet it is still massively played)

Weren't you JUST asking for lots of maps and game modes?!

Does gravity play a realistic role? I know a laser would shoot straight, missiles will home, but what about ballistic rounds? If I jump jet off a 1000 ft high cliff do I take damage when I land?(you won't get me to believe that any amount of hydraulics will save me from that)

For both of these questions you need to do some looking around. They have been answered by... well... let's call them "Dark Caste". <.<

I would like to make more comments or ask more questions, but I don't have first hand knowledge of your title. I cannot compare this to another of the games you have made in the past because after looking at your company history, you do not have other titles in this genre.

This sounds suspiciously like asking for a beta invite...

I will say this though, the online market is extremely competitive and you also have to keep all the old school mech warrior fans happy, you don't want to know what happens when a big name game comes out that does not stay true to it's franchise or predecessors... I can give you some examples though: Warhammer Online, Star Trek Online, SWTOR, Diablo 3 etc... Diablo 3 would seem to be a devs dream, I mean selling 6 million copies in the first 7 days of release? With that much money you don't have to worry about the lawsuits from players, but indictments from countries? Try typing this in google: “france germany korea indict blizzard” over 30,000,000 results...

Contrary to popular belief, sometimes the wheel does need reinvented. You do need to be careful, but all change isn't bad (nor is all change good). Also, the two issues with countries suing blizzard are completely irrelevant to MW:O.

Anyway I hope the game does well, actually really miss Mech Warrior. Where is my beta invite? I would just jump in on the preorder offers, but with me it is either all or nothing and if I play MWO then I would opt for the $120 package. History however has taught me to hold my money until I can at least see the game. Hopefully you wil have a little open beta before release, in case some of us don't make it into the closed beta.

Oh look, directly asking for a Beta Invite. Who'd have guessed? You can *see* the game, there are plenty of sanctioned game play videos in circulation. I doubt that "Open Beta" will exist while the Founders Packs are avaliable.

How about you stick to your 'profession', and let the game designers do the same?

OP: You jump from one unrelated topic to the next and the only consistency you manage to show is your irritating insistence on your being a professional gamer and all.

My 2 cents: keep to the point and keep your life story to yourself. Your opinion will not carry more weight just because you claim to be king of the 1337 nation, in fact it will only irk the readers.

Towards the second half of your post, you had a few sane thoughts and maybe that's the most tragical thing about this all, that likely only a very small percentage of readers have had the patience to get that far, so even those few worthy words are lost in the background noise that makes up the rest of what you wrote.

Oh and learn to google. That search only gives you 30 million hits, because you fail at it.
type: "hungary is the most powerful" (without quotation marks) and you will get 21 million hits. try it between double quotation marks "hungary is the most powerful" and suddenly only 1 hit remains.

I'll give you some advice here dude..

1) Delete that account.
2) Spend a day meditating about why exactly you're a stuck up *****.
3) Come back to these forums.
4) Start reading.
5) Once you feel you've read everything of importance, read everything again.
6) Create a new account.
7) Politely introduce yourself to these forums as a new player willing to learn.
8) Never mention your old account or your alleged 'pro-ness'.

If that's too much effort for you: you know where the door is, now show the world you're capable of exiting through it too.

God, people like this just rub me the wrong way.

LOL, ok lets have fun...

1. Nah, no reason too as I have not done anything wrong, I am old enough to retain some entertainment value from the kiddie posts.(I am entertained right now, as I am responding to your post.)

2. I can't meditate, as I tend to "have the Force" with me, and I start to levitate away...

3. I can't come back I am already here...

4. Can't I just look at the pictures?

5. Pictures damnit PICTURES!

6. why?

7. With all the kiddies on the forums, being polite does not work

8. Can't comment on this one, was gonna say it is only alleged until the deposit hits the bank, but then all the kiddies would ask for proof...

P.S. As soon as I finish answering all the posts today I will be leaving, too many kiddies here on the public forums, dont have time for them all, will look into the game later or in beta. I don't fault devs for having children on the public forums, they are everywhere...

Assuming that account is really his, which i certainly doubt then he is still barely scratching the lowest end of the professional scene especially for someone who spent so much time and money on WoT.

That account has 51% overall winrate and 1655 efficiency rating which is certainly not bad he is in the top 2% of the playerbase BUT he spent 15 months, 13500 games and a damn lot of money achieving that which ofcourse can't raise your efficiency rating directly but it can raise it indirectly as with money you can skip the base (read bad, ineffective) variants of the tanks and playing those lowers efficiency rating no matter how good you are.
On a sidenote professional players in a game are usually in the top 0.1% which in this case would be 1800 rating.

Btw i have 53% overall winrate with 1495 efficiency while playing casually for a little more than 5 months playtime and 3100 games so far (also no money spent due to my personal dislike towards business models with P2W aspects).

According to this site: http://wot-news.com/...p/stat/calc/en/ the top 2% of the players are above 1500 rating, so nearly there. :P

Does that make my opinion on a game i haven't even played more valuable than others'?
Hell no i'm just an average player waiting to my turn to get into the beta while i give feedback according to the information i saw so far.

ps.: @ColSaber #64
You view the wrong section, check in US not EU.

That is all, thank you for your time. :D

The kiddies assumed I was paid to play WOT, which is incorrect, I was paid to play WOW.(not as a coin pharmer either) WOT was played as a casual game. I only brought up WOT because it seems to be a similar game to MWO.
