Just checking, after all the QQ about it being a waste of time, but:
http://mwomercs.com/...core-challenge/
It seems that those who know how to Urbie, not only do well in them, but apparently, can carry harder in them, than a lot of people manage in their Assaults and Heavies.

And more importantly? There are rampant rumours of *gasp* FUN spontaneously breaking out in matches by people using Urbanmechs.

Much OP, must nerf naow?

;)

I for one welcome our new trashcan shaped overlords and would like to point out how I can be useful to them.

I have yet to be killed by one, and will not yield until that has changed!

But I am sure any of the people posting in 627s thread would be happy to help you with that. ;)

Urbie has always been the best mech, The real reason for the clan Invasion was to steal all of the Urbies so the IS could have none.

Had fun like hell with it and even some ******** builds can be deceptively punishing for a 1v1 fight if know when to fight.

The little Trashcan can take quite a beating.

I actually was worried earlier today I had gotten taken out in my Stormcrow by an urbie. There was one in the group of 4 mechs I was fighting, but I noted the name, and with a sigh of relief, it was another Stormcrow that did me in.

Most fun I've had is swirling around 360 and mitigating all that damage. Ohh yes. *mitigates damage all over his body like lathered soap*
Mmmm.

Useless, slow trash can they say?

The tournament definitely shows Urbie is powerful, when piloted employing such classic Urbie builds like 4x MPL, 2x LL + 2x ML, 2x LPL, all running pitifully slow at 107kph, barely faster than a Battlemaster with a measly 400XL!

Some daring pilots even don't leave the ballistic hardpoints obviously intended just for decoration empty, and instead fill them with MACHINE GUNS! Wow. Such awe-inspiring DAKKA.

Oh, and then there are some people who put big ballistics in their Urbies for some reason, but those, of course aren't the people on that list.

I remember sitting there looking at an Urbie as I shot at it
it just twirled its torso around.
so i shot it again.
Did the same thing.

I typed ' D=<!" at it..

It shot me in the face and killed me.

still one of the best matches so far

Heh, I can self-nerf mine to compensate.Last man standing in match last night against a heavily damaged Cent. Of course I was running a 60L AC/20 build, stripping armor from my left arm and small laser for more ammo, which had run out but got kill and third highest damage on team before I did. 5 minutes of running around avoiding LRM fire being cursed by my team mates for not packing a small laser. Cute.

The legend of the trashca...err, I mean Urbanmech
It was built so ugly and small, everymech mocked it all day and night. For much too long it had to store all those banana peels, rotting apple cores and discarded pistachio shells others didn't want anymore. But then one day, it seized the opportunity, when someone dumped a rusty, but still functional AC/10 into it. Now it has changed from accepting trash to producing it.

And this is the morale of the story, children: If you mock the little and the ugly, don't give them something they can hurt you with.

I've seen a lot of urbies so the sale must have been pretty popular.

Everytime I see one running stock I kindly ask them to upgrade their engine as soon as possible.

Just like practically every other mech in the game.

Can't say I see many stock IS builds being effective at all, even in low-mid Elo.

I thought i'd have to ask people to do it.

The first match I dropped in, before I could finish typing "URBIES, YOUR STEED AWAITS" it was like a hoard of angry giant mosquitoes buzzing around my Crab's face. I had 2 up there at one stage.

Fun fact: If someone is trying to shoot your urbie jockey, you can't block shots with your crab claws, despite opening your claws to try and gain a few more upwards pixels. It apparently just looks like you're trying to ineffectually dislodge them.

I am just happy that when I'm strafing, I can keep my target in view. The 360 torso twist was worth the purchase alone.
