The one thing I *cannot* stand is the idiots that think it's funny to act as a "spy". Lore simply doesn't allow anything but the most dedicated warrior in a mech, and it's the absolute most underhanded method available.

That means the lore is boring.

Trickery and political intrigue are the best parts of games that have a social element.

Wait, wait, *MY* vitriol?

From the eyes of those players who do quit, you're asking - no, demanding really - that they be forced to stand in the game and just take the one-sided punishment about to happen (courtesy of all the gimmick-meta-cheese I've already mentioned time and again).

Tell me how that's fun?

Your kind of mindset is what kills games. Nobody sticks around for a game that isn't fair and balanced, because in that case, fun isn't possible unless everybody's opponent is some mindless placebo that can't feel or complain. (i.e. every single player game alive) This obviously excludes every single MMO that revolves around competitive PvP gameplay.

Now, I have to step back and make a disclaimer - I don't afk, I don't quit early, ever. Given the opportunity to continue fighting back on fair (note: not necessarily equal) terms, I'll keep playing, every time.

It's because of that that I lose my cool entirely over spawncamping and one-sided gimmicking. I can't continue playing or fighting like that - that's what spawncamping, or one-sided gimmicks, mean.

So this all circles back to what I've already said: if you want player's attitudes to improve, if you want players to be motivated to keep playing despite a possible loss, if you want nobody to feel the urge to disconnect or leave early or suicide or whatever else, you have to improve the game first and foremost. Otherwise everybody will leave, and at some point, for good.

There is no improving your attitude what I have seen in thread after thread. It's filled with your anger and so as policy I just ignore what you said.

It's a given that CW will change, in fact it has this big BETA sticker on it. Whether you like PGI or hate them, that means they are going to change things as time progresses. If they do a good job people will stay whether they are bitter vets, returning or new to the game. If they fail, there is no need to get all worked up about it, life goes on.

You are screaming & demanding for them to change things and constantly going on about how they suck. While the rest of us are calmly posting suggestions then waiting to see what they come up with next. If that is how you want to play forum warrior, go right ahead, it's amusing but hardly anything positive comes out of anything you have been writing.

I'm telling people who don't like the present iteration of CW not to screw over other people playing. If you don't like CW but you still join a match, also don't screw over other players trying to make the best of what they have been given.

Screaming? No, I'm just vehemently, adamantly opinionated.

Demanding? No, if you've actually seen anything I've directed at PGI themselves, it's been simple and straightforward requests. You go ask Tina Benoit if I've been unruly, rude, or demanding with my suggestions.

The rest of you are calmly posting suggestions? Are you trying to make me laugh now, or what?

I am not here to facebook and make friends. I'm here to try to enjoy what has been envisioned as a competitive PvP Mechwarrior game (and hopefully will have a PvE single-player version too).

That said, you make two points I agree with.

First, it's a given CW will change. There's a measure of patience we have to give - I'll grant you that. I like this game enough, though, that I do not want to see, or even contemplate really, it failing. I'm a nerd, I care, it is what it is.

Second, that we shouldn't be seeking to screw over other people playing. That's the underlying argument behind removal of spawncamping, isn't it?

There's ways to make sure that fixes to spawncamping don't just result in other ways to screw over other people, though. It's merely a matter of imagination to begin with - then comes the more difficult task of implementing it, to which I simply have to trust in the ability of the developers (or future ones) over at PGI.
