We are a mercenary company fighting in the name of the Great Father and his chosen. Eagerly awaiting the return of the clans to join our brothers in battle. For now, we must make due with those opportunities and alliances as the Inner Sphere allows. Seyla!

Although the Black XIII is ostensibly under the command of Clan Wolf, it has adopted members from numerous other clan allies. Even as competition between our fellow clanners breeds strength, unity binds us all together in our greatest goal; the reclamation of the Inner Sphere in the name of Kerensky and the Star League.

BLACK XIII is a group of friends and friendly mechwarriors who might best be described as "casual competitive". That is to say, we are out to play our best, work together as a team, and respect each other and our opponents. We value tactics, strategy, skill, and practice. But we attempt to do so not at the expense of fun and immersion in the rich Battletech universe.

The members of BLACK XIII are long time fans of Battletech lore, and thrive on our nostalgia. If you can relate to a history of all-nighter tabletop Battletech, Mechwarrior 2, Collectible Card Games, and more... Then you should find you fit right in!

Prime candidates should also find that they can match well within these basic guidelines:

-Age 18+

-Headset or Mic

-Speak English

-Average ~5 hours of game time per week minimum (Not to strictly enforced)

-Primarily focused around US Eastern Time Zone / GMT -5:00 (This is the most flexible requirement, as there have been many late night gaming sessions known to happen. The more our group grows too, the easier it will be to meet everyone's schedule needs.)

We are still in the process of building our infrastructure and individual responsibilities within our group. As such, application is pretty laid back for the time being. A website and community outside of the MWO forums is presently a work-in-progress too.

If you're interested in joining up with a group of like-minded gamers to have fun playing Mechwarrior and sharing in the Battletech hobby, then you can apply by going to our website and submitting an application to join.

BLACK XIII Official Website & Membership Application

Feel free to include as much information as you'd like. The idea is to get to know each other and have fun, after-all. I'll reply by email to everyone that gets an official acceptance with farther details.

Thanks for considering BLACK XIII, and hope to hear from some of you soon!

Well, I might as well also start off by including a little introduction of myself!

Mechwarrior 2 is where I first found myself truly devoted to the Clan Wolf cause. It was the first time we'd had a current enough PC to run "real" games. I still fire it up on DOSbox when I can.

Most of my time these days in the Battletech hobby is spent working on miniatures for my own collection between projects, or playing the tabletop game on MegaMek. (With an occasional real life game thrown in when I can!) With the advent of MWO so near on the horizon, I'm all geared up to make planet-fall once again!

Greetings! My name is Jared Hardy, the second-in-command for Black XIII, and my callsign is Shasta. I'm known as DancingTofu on the Battletech (as well as many other) forums. I work at a comics and games store.

MechWarrior 3 was my first contact with Battletech, followed by MechCommander. I collected the CCG for about a year and soon learned there was a tabletop game that spawned all these wonderful games that I loved. I checked it out and loved it, although at the time I didn't have anyone else to play with. This eventually changed when I met Ryan (see above!) and I've been playing the tabletop game steadily for three years now.

After twelve long years, MechWarrior is about to come back with a vengeance and I couldn't be any more excited! ;)

Good to see you post up here, Jared. ...I think it's about time for your weekly beating, via Megamek... Maybe I'll see you online later tonight!

Also, made a small addition/clarification in the guidelines. We're primarily basing our group at the moment around US Eastern Time (GMT-5:00). However, there is lots of flexibility built in to our schedules, and it will get easier the more members we have.

Not that you'd know it from this thread, but there are more members here than just myself and shasta! The rest of our group is apparently just lazy, laying low, or some combination of both and haven't been active on here.

We're still looking for ~4 more members! PM me if you're interested.

I am interested in joining a Merc Corp. I have played most if not all of the mech warrior games. I used to have alot of the tech readouts and rules compendiums for the TT. I even was able to play it a bit. But not as much as i would have liked cause finding people to play it with was hard. There was not as much interest in my area ;). I also read as much of the BT novels as i could get my hands on. I am a hard core gamer who usually spends like 5 hours a day if i can playing games and on my days off i tend to double that time so long as nothing gets in the way. I just bought the legendary founders package and my beta status is pending. I have a cordless headset cause I want to never be away from the action. Im kind of a voice chatting geek cause i have Teamspeak mumble skype and i have xfire as well. I dont have ventrillo installed at the moment but i can if i need to. I prefer to be on voice chat when i am playing anyways cause IMO it enhances the game when you can socialize while your playing. :)

P.S. I am over 18 years of age. I live in the eastern time zone. I am unsure at this point what my prefered weight class would be maybe meduim and up. I will have to try the game out a bit before i figure out what role i want to be in because while it looks sweet so far i still need to get a feel for the game before i decide.

Hey Dawgstruction, thanks for the interest!

If you want to, go ahead and send me a membership request through the Yahoo Group and I'll get you approved.

We're also going to be using TeamSpeak3, so you should be good to go there too.

Since about 50% of our members are currently MIA, slow as molasses to get online and post, etc etc we're still openly recruiting.

Apply now!

Well, might as well bump this up...

I had a computer crash and client fail, and then life kept me away from solving either of those issues for the last few months.

In my absence the group pretty much completely dissolved.

BUT I'm back now, have a couple of the crew online with me again and we're starting from scratch.

If that sounds like your kind of thing, let me hear from ya'!
