The Griffin only has 3 variants in game (4 if you count the Hero: Sparky). The IS also really needs an ECM capable mech between the Atlas and the Cicada. The Griffin-2N is perfect for this, satisfying two needs at once. This model fits into the timeline and current tech; in addition there are already many Shadow Hawk variants, making the Griffin a better choice. This should not be too much trouble to add, since there should be no need to create new geometry.

GRF-2N:
The SLDF's Royal Griffin was introduced in 2751 and mounted an ER PPC, two SRM-6 launchers, and a Guardian ECM Suite. The heat-sinks were upgraded to double-strength models and the ammo was protected by CASE. To fit all this, the armor was changed to Ferro-Fibrous and the chassis was made of Endo-Steel.

Propose the following hardpoint locations:
2 Energy in the RA
2 Missile in the LT
1 AMS in the RT
1 ECM in the RT (or LT just like all the other IS ECM)
Max jump jets 7 (same as other griffins)
proposed quirks: none

1 Energy LA
1 Missile LT
1 Missile RT
1 AMS RT

ECM heavier than a cicada is really needed, both in CW and regular drops.

With the introduction of Clan Wave III mechs, the Clans will have a large selection and variety of ECM capable mechs in the lighter 3 catagories, which is great. The IS could really use so more ECM capable tonnage selections please.

Agreed, IS needs an ECM in the medium to heavy department. So a Griffin fits well.

I was just thinking the other day that the IS NEEDS a heavy ECM mech. (The Clans, meanwhile, need an Assault ECM mech)

Depending on how they define the calendar... the Bandersnatch would make a great addition to the game as well. Technically it went into production in 3052, but, technically, there weren't any Highlanders or King Crabs on the field really either (Not counting Comstar)

A nice, 75 ton mech, with ECM, will put those Hellbringers in their place!

Plus... it looks badass!

I also agree that we really need some further ECM support for the IS. Having a heavy ECM mech makes a lot of difference for the clans in my oppinion. Clan CW decks are basically overflowing with ECM right now, and it will only get worse with Wave 3 while we are stuck with 5 light ECM mechs (including the Cicada) and the 100 ton Atlas.
An ECM Griffin would sure be a step in the right direction, but a heavy class mech would also be greatly appriciated.

I agree, a heavy ECM for the IS would be great too, but I really want to see the griffin. Plus, PGI would not even have to create any additional modeling, hopefully reducing the amount of effort to implement it. I would even be happy to see it come in like the Clan Reinforcements (available in gift store first, cbills and mc a month later).

Hi, i think the simplest way are to keep the standart Grifin 1 N hardpoints or the Griffin 3 M with additional ECM hardpoint.

Such a mech shouldn't just be the same as another varient because without serious quirks the non-ECM mech would be obsolete. This mech needs its own hard point setup.
