I played the Star Wars pod at Dave and Busters a little while ago. I was very disappointed with it's versatility (Starfox esq. gameplay/railroad).

Once I get into my new house, I plan to build a mechpit. There are other threads on these forums going into this in detail. There was also Firestorm, but it was expensive and didn't last.

That just reminded me of the old Battletech Centers they used to have around. We had one at Dave and Busters in Michigan a few years back. So fun.

They still have one in Minnesota. I'm assuming they have them elsewhere as well.

That's where mine was, at D&B, but I only got to play it a few times (expensive, like $1/min.) before they removed it. When I got my mom's life ins. I considered buying a set (about $27k) but was overruled by the wife... :(

Never, you can't have your cake and eat it too :P. Also man I wish I coulda used my old Steel Battalion controller on MWO ;x that would make a legit addition to a "mechpit"

I think I only ended up playing once before D&B pulled it. They simplified the controls too so I didn't get the full experience. Still, it was fun.

BTW: What was your wife thinking? 27k for a BT rig is totally justified. It's a bargain :).

Tesla and prior systems were significantly more sim than the later Firestorm systems; trading fidelity & gameplay for graphics is never a good trade :(

you must not be married :P

Almost all of my old, large gaming stuff is now in storage.... only my Desktop is easily found... even then, I managed to get it in the living room, due to it having a white colour scheme, making it match the trim...

Wives can be a little nuts about things, that don't match the decor....

LOL Metus.... them wives are funny sometimes... then again... MINE is actually AFTER me to build my computer/man cave in the back room... she "says" so I can have my privacy when gaming but might have something to do with my triple monitor system taking up a bit of the living room space... dunno...

And wow... here as well takes me back to the BattleTech Centers... we used to hit the center in the North Pier Mall in Chicago... take a train my SW Michigan, rent 12 pods for an hour at a time and throw down... great times!!

I had a Computer man cave.... then my Baby Boy, became a Toddler... and then I some how got talked into having a second child... so yea, man cave became the Toddler's room... So now, my nice computer in its Cool Master Storm Stryker case sits in the sky blue and white trimmed living room, hooked up to the 42" flat screen.... so net win I guess?
