Hi gang, returning Legendary Founder here with a quick question. Literally have not played since the closed Beta in 2012 and at the prodding of friends tried to get my account fixed (originally never got my founders package or anything so I walked but have it now) so I'm back to give the game try. Logged into my account for the first time and not only were the 4 founders mechs in my hanger but so were 3 others. Unlike the founders mechs which have the (F) at the end of their designation the other 3 have a (L). I don't figure it just means Liao that makes no sense to be in my hanger. Was there another rewards thing for founders while I was gone or what the heck does the (L) mean? It is a little thing but I can't find it and it is driving me nuts. Thanks for the assist. See you on the ground.

Stupid thing randomly logged me out and deleted my post so you could be helpful before me. Idiot forum, I literally logged in something like 20 minutes ago and was browsing the entire time.

But yeah, Loyalty.

Excellent. My thanks to both of you. Any other little things I have missed and should know/might drive me to distraction? Much appreciated.

Well, you know L-Loyalty, so...

P-Phoenix
R-Resistance
I-Invasion
S-Sarah/Special (Depending on whether it's on a Jenner or an Urbanmech)

There was a Grid Iron Limited Edition...

Cats will eat you before you're cold.

Special for an Urbie? What does it come with an auto ignite for the jump jets so when it is kicked they will ignite giving you more distance for better scoring? ;)

Being serious though, thanks.

So, not wanting to just start a new thread and clog space is there a way to set my firing groups pre-drop?

Yeah, in mechlab/configure mechs, third button from the bottom is "weapon groups."

The () marks and their meanings:

(F) Founders; Operation Inception (the beginning). 30% cbill bonus.
(P) Phoenix; "Project Phoenix" (reviving some of the "Unseen" 'Mechs from the ashes). 30% cbill bonus.
(I) Invasion; relates to the currently three waves of Clan OmniMechs. 30% cbill bonus.
® Resistance; Dunno if there is a canonical reasoning behind the name. 30% cbill bonus.
(L) Loyalty; 'Mechs rewarded to long standing players who supported the game (each mech was awarded for a different reason). 30% cbill bonus.
(S) Sarah's mech [Jenner]. 30% cbill bonus.
(S) Special Variant [Urbanmech] 30% cbill bonus.

( C ) Champion, purchased with MC. 30% XP (and GXP) bonus. These are regular mechs that have a pre-upgraded loadout.

You can also setup or test your weapon groups in the Training Grounds. These can be found under the "Home" tab of the Mechbay.

Training Grounds also let you take a tour of the maps, if you want to (re-)familiarize yourself with them without people shooting at you.

Stuff is better now than when you let, and the 'MechLab which will annoy the crap out of you is going away Soontm and will no longer trouble the waking world. As always, use Smurfy's Awesome Reference Page until we get the Change MechLab We Can Believe In.
