Although I haven't quite figured out my Urbie yet, I am glad it was added and that I have one. It is just a fun and quirky machine.

Thanks to PGI for listening to the community.

I have the same feeling in my Jenner-S. Something about driving that Mech makes me giggle. Spirit of the original pilot maybe.

Never heard of an Urbanmech until April 1st of last year. Bought the collectors edition to strengthen PGI's involvement with their clients.

I think they delivered a LOT more than I even expected, and I can't tell you how much I enjoy 360 Torso twist.

Cheers, PGI.

Unfortunately, I think I've only seen one or two Urbies that actually equip ballistics bigger than MGs. Almost all of them are boating lasers and MGs. I mean, people have been running AC20 Ravens as a joke since 2012, and when PGI finally gives us a light mech that is actually designed to carry an AC20, nobody's interested?

It's sad. Very sad.

The construction system strikes again. Weapons with a high minimum tonnage requirement aren't a great choice for mechs that have very little loadout tonange to spend. It's even worse for Urbs because he's 30 tons instead of 35 tons.

WTB effective light ballistics. :\

I agree 100%. But I saw a lot of people who claimed, before the Urbie was released, that they would love to just waddle behind a Dire Wolf or King Crab at 60 kph, peek out behind their big brother and take shots at people with their AC20. It's a bit sad that so few people actually did this.

I don't really blame them. I mean, I bought a Pirate's Bane because I had a fantasy that it would be really fun to just play a tiny light mech with ER LL, ECM and BAP and extended sensor module, TAG and UAV as a pure scout and pretend we actually had role warfare. But after getting hunted down and swiftly smashed a dozen times by Firestarters, I realized my fantasy wasn't as fun in real life as I had hoped. Turns out it was more fun just killing people.

regardless they truly are a lot of fun to motor around in

I've been rolling my UM-R63 with a stock std60 and a gauss - so much fun!

Also UM-R60L keeps it's AC20, and I giggle like mad when I pop a torso open from a hidden position :)

AC5-10 are realistically doable. The AC20, because of being 5 tons lighter, really doesn't work well. You just are too slow, with too little ammo. Might be fun for SMM but that's about it

You'll note I was never one of them...in fact people touting the Urbie with and AC20 I always thought as a little more .... special than the rest of us Urbie pilots.

Sadly, in the game, and meta, about the biggest truly useful ballistic is the UAC5. I would love the LB-X, or AC10, but reality is, just like every other mech in the game, if you want to be anything but a detriment to your team, you can't really run joke builds.

I would LOVE to be able to run the ac10 on mine. And I might stil modify one to do that, regardless the consequences. But then again, my love is the Deputy Dawg.... and it was always a little faster, and armed with lasers and MG.

Using SSW, I was able to min-max an Urbie with AC/10, 2 tons of ammo, 3 SL, 2 JJs, and 6/9 MP but I had to use XXL engine, XL gyro, small cockpit, and Endo. :\

thinking all that advance tech kinda defeats the whole point of an Urbie?

Says Urbie in the title.

Also, it's actually a "thanks PGI" thread. That should make you feel dirtier.

Yay, I'm special? I like my little R60L with AC/20 and two tons of fun. Bonus points when I only kill people with the Small Laser after I am out of ammo.
