Still at 3 chassis while all the rest have 4.

I don't think you need new parts with CUAC20 and 4 ERML all high mounted along with ECM. :o

I don't think there are any more time appropriate variants for the Hellbringer.

Sorry for not putting in 20 lasers like all the other clanners. Please forgive me! :(

I run the 20+4ML sometimes and its fun( and works well). My favorite is still 3ERL+4ERS. The Hellbringer is a Solid mech, it dont need luv.

I love it to bits and pieces. Takes awhile to learn how to land your UAC20 pellets in the same location on a moving target but worth it.

I wish I could bring more ammo though. I often run out when I have a good game. I have quite a few clam mechs, but the HBR is my favorite. Too bad the heavy queue is always clogged up. It's not the 1500-2000 damage expected of more optimized laservomit builds but it's fun.

Anyone calling the Hellbringer by its freebirthy codename can't have much love for it in the first place.
So. There.

There is literally no Hellbringer / Loki in time line that can fit besides a hero one which would consist of like 5 x C LRM 10 (3 in right arm, 2 in torso) and 3 er medium lasers in the other arm. (or was it 5 x LRM 5's?)

Either way this was apocryphal and the fact its' a hero means it won't be in game any time soon.

I have to admit... I personally love the "Freebirth" name for the Timberwolf, Ebon Jaguar, Hellbringer, and Adder (aka "Mad Cat", "Couldron Born", " Loki", and "Puma" for those youngsters out there).

Part of it is due to how it was originally code named that, the other part is the pop-culture in lore of it.

Hellbringer doesn't really need anything, I very rarely have a bad game in one.

Between the ECM and high energy and ballistic points.. this thing is a monster.

I don't get why folks think that posting a bunch of mediocre games is somehow proof of anything. Even screenshots of high damage games don't do anything to prove a point unless you have a few thousand of them. I get that the build might be fun, which is fine, I'm not going to knock anyone for playing what they enjoy playing. However, if entered in to a discussion about how good a mech is I kind of expect the build to be up to snuff.

Anyways, even if the Hellbringer had additional lore variants I would hardly see the point. It can already do just about everything but missile boat. More energy hardpoints would be pointless, as would additional ballistic hardpoints.

i think the loki could use a right torso with 3 energy hard points like the left

what about a ecm left torso with some missile hard points?

That's why the Mad Cat, Daishi, and Ryoken got new pods instead, because they clearly needed it. :P

It's more about a variety/flavor/newshiny thing than what a mech "needs." PGI probably hasn't given the Loki anything because the timeline only had 2 Loki variants to begin with. :\

Judging by the fact the Timberwolf and Direwolf got 2 new variants each, I don't believe the motivating factor here was need. I do agree the Hellbringer is in a better place than many of the other Clan Omnis in the hardpoint department, so it isn't suffering from not getting new variants either.

loki has great omnipods in my opinion. you can can boat all weapon types fairly effectively. 4 ballistic, 3 missile, or 7 laser (i did 7, though you might be able to get more). though tonnage limits your ballistic options, four 2s, three 5s or two gauss/10/20, but those are still excelent options considering the speed and maneuverability of the chassis (and ecm on some builds). boating lasers or missiles is considerably easier. and there are lots of non-boat options as well. of course you get to decide between armor and firepower, and that makes it one of the most configurable clan mechs in my opinion. you aren't limited by all those fixed equipment slots taking up all the space limiting what you can put where.

the madcat pods really dont do anything you couldnt do before. except maybe the 4 missile variant without the negative quirks that come with the ballistic points. even the new one kind of sucks. if anything it lets you run a 9 laser varient.

The Mad Cat D lets you missile boat without taking as many (or any) hardwired JJs, and more importantly it gives -5% energy heat on the left arm (whose idea was that quirk anyways?).

The new Mad Cat A gives high-mounted energy hardpoints in the left torso, which lets the mech become an excellent long-range peeker with reduced body exposure.

All the timeline Loki variants are already in game.

The other mechs have had those variants in the files since Launch, only getting released now.

Discounting P variants, the Loki has the C(3054), which as a 3E LA (up from 2) and a 1M RA(to allow 3 effective SRM racks)

D(3069) variant has 2E in the right arm and 2E in the RT.

E(3069) variant jumps, 2 JJs per ST and 2 in the CT. No new hardpoints.

H(3059) variant has a 4E1M LT (rather than a Jesus Box)

F(3054) has 1E1M RT, and both arms are 1B1E.

Nothings really better than what it has. Perhaps the HoverJets.

Summoner will get a big boost when the Summoner G comes out. Having a high mounted energy in the RT to match a ballistic LT will be a great match. ERPPC/Gauss paired will be a serious ridge humper.

Ohh the Encyclopedia Battletech said 3050 for the G.
