I would play it more if it didn't make my framerate drop to the 20s.

It was fine after the optimization patch, i would drop to high 30s at worst. But now it's unplayable.

if it wasnt for forming times and peak hours where i live being so bad, id play a lot more. many times i want to play cw but there is a ceasefire or its too late to get a game on. only time it really works out for me is if there is an event going on where there are enough people to make the wait times relatively miniscule.

if the win conditions for the planets were independent of any preset time windows i think more people would play. it would also mean no ceasefires.

instead of 'cap a majority of areas in the allotted time' mechanic, instead you can use a tug of war mechanic. when you launch a campaign a counter starts at zero, each win would add one and each loss would subtract one. when the number reaches 10 the planet is won (and it goes to the unit with the most victories during the campaign). if it reaches -10 it is lost and goes back to the defender. after that the planet is on cooldown where you cannon start another campaign there (30 minutes minimum, like a cease fire, but it could be longer). the map would be redrawn in real time after the conclusion of each campaign.

I love the concept of CW, and have been waiting for something like it for a long time. The wait just kills me though. I can't sit there and wait 15-20 for a match lol. So I just play regular matches until that gets fixed.

I wait less than. 2 minutes usually to drop in CW, but then I form up a 12 man team before I drop so there is no wait.

This. Full groups get priority, doesn't matter if it is all pilots from the same unit or a co-op from different units/lone wolves. Atm Part of the issue is the lack of lobby, even if it was a minor faction/individual House/Clan (ie Kurita/Ghost Bear), the beta faction chat window (stuck in one location) and the beta LFG, never mind the inability to start a coop unit with the people you just dropped with...wait, let me screen shot names then add them to my friends list and hope they take my invite, etc, etc.

It is good that PGI is adding things in, unfortunately a number of items are not well thought out, or if they are meant to be place holders while more items are being worked on behind the scenes, then it needs to be communicated.

Anyway, with it in beta, the PGI has not made CW the primarily focus for the players, and they even noted that when CW went live, that the bread and butter would be the solo/group queue until further notice.

Like others have said, I love the game length, but I'm not waiting for 15+ minutes to get a match. They need to offer a public que for CW. Non-12mans can que up for that and just get put in wherever gets them the shortest wait time.

I have real life obligations and can't just spend all night playing video games. When I do get time to game, I don't want to spend it all waiting for a match...

Or if CW had more depth then shoot the gens, shoot the gun, repeat.

I imagined CW being more an actual planetary invasion, with multiple stages, modes, maps and the like. Having it play out more like a SP MW game played in a PVP setting.

THe stages I imagined woulda been:
Invasion: Current ODG kills. THen 10 wins or 10 losses here will determine if the next stage is even needed, or if the defense wins right here.

Counter attack: Where the defenders get a chance to kick the attackers off the planet again.

Mainland Battles: A Series of objective based game modes played out in standard Pug land maps, but with different objectives. THe one who completes or holds the majority of the objectives in the end wins the round, 10 rounds wins the segment

Capital City Assault: THe final stage to secure and flip a planet. The attackers must secure and hold the capital city in 10 times. If its captured, the planet finally flips and becomes owned by the attackers. Attackers get massive LP and 250MC to each Mechwarrior who participated in any of the winning battles.

If Defense wins at any stage, the defense gets massive LP and 250MC to all successful defenders.

and 10 rounds, basically the blue ticks we have now, except instead of 15 of the same battles, its more along the lines of like 50-60 games, over many different stages, many different maps and game modes required to flip a single planet....so yeah, I imagined CW being a very long, drawn out process and flipping planets taking a little more then 3 hours to complete....but that was just me...

I personally would play the living shart out of CW, wait time and all, if:
  • Attack or Defend in the shell actually *MEANT* that in the match. AKA "what you choose is what you get"
  • 3025 mode (I'm sick of the clans. And by looking at the queues, so are 75% of the playerbase)

I like the format. I just don't like the wait time for the que. I only play CW during CW specific tournaments because the wait to get in is too long.
