The Jade Falcons like to preen and enjoy how stylish they are. Wolves like caramel to much, and will not allow the falcons to out shine them.

Ghost bear love the simple clean lines and colors of their pattern. However PGI messed it up in the last patch because now the colors are muddy looking when applied to the mech.

Smoke Jag gives no f*cks. They like the nice flat paint. They just want to bath their mechs in the coolant and lubricating fluids of their enemies.

Eh, baneblades are slow anyway. Orks actually get that red paint job that makes them faster, rule wise anyway. Even though its pretty pathetic for all the time they talk about it, a whole 8.3% faster on average. Guess that would be funny.

Ork player here, so gunna bash you with with the tree of knowledge.

Rule wise, red does go faster. Paint anything red and it goes faster. But, what you are forgetting is that it is not "8.3%" to total speed, it is free movement. That inch you gain doesn't count as tracked movement for determining what you can do or the number of weapons you can fire. You can move an inch and never count as having moved at all.

That's a "8.3%" boost not just to top speed but also to acceleration, stability and control. An Ork Looted Leman Russ can drive faster and drive farther while maintaining firing ability compared to the IG version just because they put a coat of red paint on it.

But this is only true in the presence of Orks because: Orks are psyker savants- every single one of them. Their tech works because they believe it will work, da small boys believe in it because da big ones says so. Da big ones believe it will work because they cannot be wrong and will whomp anyone that disagrees. It is that collective agreement through force as to why their trucks don't run out of gas or why a mehk-boy can get an engine with a hole through it's block working by giving it a swift kick.

This is after the Retcon, before they used to be 20% cooler. It used to be that if you could trick an Ork into believing a brick was a gun then it would shoot bullets. If you tricked an Ork into believing a cardboard box was a truck then it really would start up, make a lot of noise and drive around. Ork Tech used to not even be anything that worked, rather just a mess of metal sculptures made to look scary and impressive at their function as possible so any Ork that saw it would instantly know what it was and what it was to do. Mehk-boyz weren't technical geniuses, they were artists and Orks were the most menacing threat in the galaxy because of the power of their imagination.
