Armour so thin, that if you sneeze on it, you are taking a chance against 9 internal crits....

True clanner just charge straight at the enemy and trust their twin UAC20s end them before anything important gets hit.

Don't get me wrong, it's a fantastic unit for a ToP into the warrior cast, I mean up to 80 points from dual cUAC 20's hurts like hell..., but out in the field, getting assigned one was a big "F-U" to the pilot getting it...

Two of my favorite mediums. Love the Nightsky as well as the Hunchback IIC.

Do all IIC's not meet the three variant minimum? (aside from the mechlab quandary regarding modifications)

Locust and Jenner have 3 available each.
Griffin and Shadow Hawk have 2 each.

The other option is to have them count as variants of the normal IS chassis, which would be kinda weird, as some are different tonnages. Shadow Hawk IIC is a 45tonner, Locust is a 25, and the Hellhound (Wolverine IIC) is a 50tonner.

well, there is good news in this area. The BattleMaster version has no known details other than the loadout. So, re-seen or unseen, makes no difference. I think it'll make it into the game.

It...it comes stock with 8 ERSLs...
And a MPL.

Only moves 142. It does, however, have a 200, so it has 8 TrueDubs VS the 7 of the Myth Lynx (and a higher speed bracket).

This wouldn't be a terrible 25 tonner. It could even go 6 SPLs...with some armour stripping. 5.5 tons with best armour allocation.

There is one terrible flaw with it, though. It comes with a STANDARD ENGINE! Going XL saves it another 4 tons.

9.5 tons of pod space on a 25 tonner really makes the Ice Fridge feel bad.

Not totally on par with Lore, but IIC variants could be a way for PGI to "give" clan tech to the IS, see these variants on both sides of CW. Use the same skill tree as their host chassis. More mechs for IS to buy, and entice Clanners who do not play any IS mechs to skill some up for variant too.

They do that and you won't see a Clan Omni or standard IS BM on the field again. The power creep would be real as current Clan Tech is balanced not against IS Tech but the restrictions of the Omnimech system. Would make the current example of power creep, the newest reenforcement mechs, look like a small nudge.

The current design of Clan Tech is the roadblock to being able to bring Clan BMs into the game without throwing everything else made before it under the bus. Something I campaigned for when Clan Tech was being designed in MWO was to balance Clan Tech against IS Tech and keep that separate from BM vs Omni designs. Make clan weapons functionally different, things like having lasers with a lower tick damage but giving a bonus damage that ramps up if the laser weapon is held to the same component: Weaker against a twist or as a rake but stronger if held on a single target component. To make Clan Tech stronger in optimal conditions but harder to use as you need to perform better to play optimally.

Until PGI's current design for Clan Tech changes we really shouldn't see Clan Tech on Battlemechs.

Well, not entirely. One day we'll have an omni that actually has endo+ferro+reasonable sized engine+full engine heatsink slots. That day the clans will have their perfect storm of awesome.

I have heard this song before....."Make them Harder to use but better performers if used optimally"!

Basically translated this mean make them suck balls to 90% of players but any superhuman mechwarrior player with a server within 50 miles of PGI headquarters can rock these babies a 20 ping.

Commando IIC

2 ERML
3 SRM4s
1 SRM6

With Adders and Kitfox in a lance one of these could swoop in and spatter the mech with enough SRMs to get crits like crazy. Let the PPC Adders open them up from range then crit them into uselessness.

Its strange. I was never a Commando fan, but the Commando IIC... I think I had 15 personal variants for that bad boy! I had Clan Goliath Scorpion at my table, it was a odd thing that a primarily Missile Mech was an influential 2nd line Mech in a Laser Vomit Clan.

Never liked the VatBrat remake of the Urbie. Heck, it wouldn't even have 360 rotation...because it doesn't have a waist turret!

Clan Whiners been saying they should have the option of a STD engine anyhow, cuz somehow having that in place of an immortal C-XL give us advantages. So, I'd think they'd embrace that!

(Apparently, running around for a minute or two as a stick going pew pew with 1-2 light lasers is a massive advantage over oh, IDK, mounting almost twice the firepower in the first place and staying alive with after taking almost as much damage.

Doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but these are the guy who dress like Furbies at all their important shindigs, pretend warfare is some cheap 1950s samurai flick and worship a nutjob with a mongol fetish as a god. So, ya know, go figure, right?

;)

Always liked it too, though I like CMDs, period.

I think my favorite version was 7/11/3 movement (later had TSM added), endo, 4.5 tons ferro, 2 Hvy Medium Lasers, 4x SRM4 (ammo x2) and an ECM Suite. 54 pt alpha, with a max of 9 waste heat if jumping. Usually used that waste heat the next turn to run 12 hexes and grab cover. Then come back from a different angle and do it again.

Actually used that mech well into the Jihad campaign.
