Also, pilotting a Shadow Cat would be cool too
Guess I gotta wait a bit for any clan mechs

I'm sure they are coming but those are Clan mechs.

I am more surprised about what did make the cut.
Cicadia - because we really needed another Jenner with lighter armor, fewer weapons, and no jump jets.
Centurian - We have a Hunchback and a Trebutchet, do we really need a HunchBucket? And how many more 50 tonners before we see 45 or 55 tons?
Cataphract - nothing inherently wrong with this mech other than, it is not an Orion
These two should have been in the medium list: Dervish or Blackjack. We are also missing the Steiner staple Zeus. I have already mentioned the Orion, but here it is again.

From a fluff perspective, they're not around much.
Black Knight, Highlander, King Crab. They're all SLDF mechs. Most of them went with Kerensky in the exodus. The King Crabs especially all went. The few of the above that remained were either destroyed, lost in storage somewhere, or were horded by the Com Guard. Occasionally people would find an SLDF cache somewhere and pull a few out, but for the most part they were super rare. That's why Wolf's Dragoons were such a huge deal. They showed up with all these old SLDF mechs, which they thought were total crap and would go under the radar but in fact it set off alarms everywhere. Clearly they should have held on to their Urbanmechs.
