St. Ives Blues: Worst Hero In The Game?

RAGRATS
This thing is a ****. I don't even care about the speed, I have made my slow clan lights work fine. It's the lack of hardpoints, the placement of them, and the combination. It's one or two laser HP away from being able to run a laser only support loadout. It is at least one missile HP away from being able to use those as a primary weapon. Lacking HP usually means you put a couple bigger guns on and rely on the bigger punch for game play. But bigger guns means HOT on SIB. A pair of LL is pretty sub par considering what the game is like right now with people running around with 70 point laser barf alphas. I ran it once, with some SRM backup, and found it simply was too big a target without enough firepower to keep the enemy honest. So I tried PPC. No min range, my single ML was pretty inconsequential to the Huggin that rushed me. I tried ERPPC before that, lol no, 60%+ heat fireing a pair of them. 14 tons of PPC leaves no room for DHS with the XL250 installed.
What have people done with this thing to make it work? 3 ML and LRM's and settle for mediocre matches? my next loadout to try will be a single ERPPC, ML, and whatever LRM I can fit, and if that fails(I think it will) I will switch to SRM maybe. Unless someone has an unusual loadout for me to try.
Unless I am overlooking something here, I can not recommend this mech, to anyone for anything. A single laser barf crow is worth a whole lance of SIB's.

I dropped in 4 matches with SIB and I have nothing but sour grapes for it so far.
Quick EDIT: uh, Google is viewing my thread right now. Is that a thing? I have never seen that before. Just noticed it under the reply box.

Death's Knell doesn't have Spider hitboxes.

The hitboxes aren't that far off, it's just that the Commie is a bit more squat while the Spider is skinnier/lankier.
The real issue with DK is that it's 25 tons (second worst place to be in the Battletech construction system) instead of heavier, perhaps also not having JJ access. Sub-250 engine limit doesn't help...
However, it also gets better hardpoints than any Spider, for whatever that's worth (almost everything in the game has better hardpoints than Spiders).

Oh, heck no. TDK is fun and can work. IV-Four gets my vote. What a stinking pile.

I also like the other Vindicator's with the nice PPC quirks. For some reason they made the quirks on the Vindy Hero somewhat lacking. I would not buy it either.

You can make it work with 2xLL 2xSRM4 1xML but it will not be doing enough damage to scare anything but a locust, and wont run fast enough to be able to get away from a Centurion or Hunchback
