who is F the smart guy set the 80 pts restriction? so much fun for a support class, now we all have to rush in and blast s around.
half of my match ended in base got destroyed b4 I can get 80 pts or spawn camped by pre-made team.

Nice job Dev real nice job, I will see you all in the next content patch

Please refrain from swearing in my thread. I would like this to remain a clean, civil discussion. Don't say that you didn't, for you did using the abbreviations F and s; it remains a breach of CoC.

I would have to say I'm very disappointed with the event sadly. The first couple of days seemed better... the matches more equal. I was dropping solo and if I dropped into a group with an 8-man premade the opposing team would have one as well, or at the worst, it was 2 four-mans vs an 8-man with pugs filling in the last lance. The past two days the queueing system has completely self destructed.

I'm playing this event on the side of the clans, and I don't know what happened but my last 6 games have been complete pug groups against full IS premades... its a slaughter and sadly we're often on the attack. 3 of the games turned into pure dropzone camping and I was dropping off the ship already nearly cored by the time I could turn and fight. 2 games I wasn't even able to make the 80 point cutoff to get credit for the drop. I shut the game off and probably won't return to the event, its kind of a joke. Stalker LLas everywhere, and why wouldn't there be?

I know there is a lot of whining about "clan OP" but it isn't OP clans at all. In fact, the balance seems pretty fair if you get mixed drops (as in not 12 Stalker 4Ns, but a few stalkers and a few firestarters and a few thunderbolts are more managable). As much as IS complains about Stormcrows and Timby's, I would say the big 3 IS machines are just as "OP" so the problem isn't clan vs IS balance, its just that some chassis are performing better than their comrades.

How many Summoners have you seen in this event? Novas? Many are dropping adders just because they want to use their tonnage for some heavies/assaults. Kitfoxes? If you aren't bringing Stormcrows/Direwhales or Timbies you're handicapping your team. Likewise with IS, Firestarters and Stalkers everywhere, Thunderbolts are a staple as well. Raven 3L, Cicada 3M or other ECM mechs (and Hellbringers are the clan version of this) are occasional sights.

I have not enjoyed the event since the first two days when matches were reasonable. There should have been a pug drop queue and a premade queue, I would wait a few extra minutes gladly to have a match where it was possible to win, or where I could even get credit for the match. I'm not going to waste my time on a game that rewards me nothing because they can't figure out a queue system and will probably cancel my wave 3 preorder today.

Regardless of why you played IS it was still your choice to play IS. You didn't have to.

stuff

That right there is the most stupidest thing I have read for a long time.

What your saying is that MWO started life with BOTH Clan and I.S. Mechs available for purchase or grind?

Come on. Even you can't really be so slanted as to actually believe what you wrote there to be any thing but some twisted reality you lived in... the rest of us...

If given the choice Day One...perhaps. There was not a choice day one.

800 damage across four mechs. This you cannot do?

There are people out there that don´t even...even.

My favourite fellow player had 109 damage.
In all 4 Mechs together.

(He had burned through all of them in minute 9 too. Marvelous chap.)

My unit was aligned with the clans for this event. I just recently came back after a year away. After reading about all the que lengths for IS players I was extremely happy to drop as clan for this. (I don't care what I drop in, or who I drop for, as long as I can drop) However, that meant I had to drop in 3 trail clan mechs. I only have 1 Stormcrow in my mechbay.

The event was fun for about the first 15 or so drops. Then the mechanics and the drop duration began to be noticeable. I dropped in pre-mades and solo a lot. Obvioulsy I had much higher success when I was in a pre-made. Even a 4-7 man group is a million times better then alone. The match score became an issue. Players played for the 80 points and not the outcomes. I don't want to see the rewards tied to wins, though. Lets face it we are basically beta testing CW right now and it is no where near balanced. The trial mechs were a bear to deal with. This heat management though, made me feel more immersed. Not being able to vomit 3 or 4 alphas made the matches for me, more technical. Positioning, map awareness, effective weapon ranges, weapon groups all came to bear in playing matches, more so then in some of my other mechs, regardless of clan/IS chasis. The unbalanced nature and builds made them test my abilities, more any other player. Not saying I wasn't tested by other players, but combined with trial mechs really gave me a lot of "oh s@#!" moments.

I will hit the 50 event goal. I am clan and have fast drops, and I retired from the military recently and am in school now. It allows for more freedom in my schedule to make time for MWO. Like I said though it hasn't been fun after the first 15 matches. The maps are horribley designed. They are either strong defense maps or strong attack maps. Drop ship camping is real, and until PGI fixes the mechanic, players will take the path of least resistance.

Mechs need to be slowed down. They run around traversing the enviroment to fast for the size of the current maps, and the size of the bigger mechs. They no longer feel cumbersome and heavy. Either a new heat mechanic needs to be invented or something needs to happen to slow down alphas. I don't mind dieing to coordinated fire and good group positioning and tactics, but we have since moved on from that with these alpha strikes.

In the end I think the concept was amazing. I would have loved to see it take place over a longer period of time. I realize PGI may not have that kind of time though and this week is really just data gathering for them. In the end though, I'm not sure I would want to do so a lengthy event again.

U wot?

You mean the same deathmatch concept that we had all the time? On the same maps we had all the time? With leaderboards and challanges like we had all the frigging time? The shallowness of a puddle of spit...that we had all the time? The same lack of anything immersive like we had all the time?
Just with even more nerve wrecking --waiting-- than we had all the ******* time?

What "concept" are you talking about?

No the concept of having everyone fight over 1 planet.

I'm rather disappointed that PGI did a Tukayyid event before CW was ready for prime time. It's the single most important battle of the century we're in... this event should have happened when CW was no longer in Beta. It is wasted on this half-finished mess.

I'm not even playing. It's simply not worth my time to sit in a queue for the entire length of a match in order to get said match. The wait time for CW is horrible enough when there isn't an event on, and none of the posts I've seen have been encouraging.

So, best of luck to everyone who's participating, but the whole thing was a mistake.
