Lately the Queue time is up to 1h+ while the Queue resets many times.

6 Battles so far pugging IS side - facing 1 Clan PUG and 5 Clan Premade Groups.

The PUG fight was fun - there were other Mechs than ECM-Hellbringers that cover Timberwolves and Stormcrows that the Premades bring - the Clan PUG had Novas, Gargoyles etc.
It was often a Mech vs Mech fight instead of target calling.
It was actually a spread out fight and you could scout without getting your nose shot off by a dozen enemies.
It was no hidden rush (bcs the premades would have won with the second wave each if they had wanted it and that btw screws the stats PGI is gathering) but it was a lengthy PUG fight that could have changed course till the last wave.
It was what makes Mechwarrior great!

1 more fight that does 80 points and i have the particiption challenge done and i guess i will not do CW so much after that until the CW game changes PGI will do.

TFT80P :P

Seems fine. Maybe join the side that needs more players instead of complaining about being on the side with too many players.

Didnt know you could change your faction when you were in a merc unit without them having to change it as well

This is a thread to gauge the community's reaction to Tukayyid.

Personally speaking, I'm not liking it one bit. I was super excited when it was initially announced, but, now that it's here, I'm realizing just how many problems it's causing. the high volume of players in the CW queues makes it difficult to find matches in the normal queues. On top of that, when you do play CW, it similarly takes far too long to find a match because of the imbalance of players between the Clans and IS. I played three hours tonight and was only able to drop in two CW matches, and only then because I was able to get into a 12-Man premade.

Next to that, I discovered that many of the same glitches that plagued CW over a month ago, and drove me to quit CW and return to the normal queues, are still present. I am still respawning in a fresh Mech, but with a countdown timer that never ends (it just resets every time it hits zero). The incredible lag and warp is still present throughout the map, and especially near the big gun. It's incredibly frustrating.

So, all that being said, I think I'm going to take a break from MWO until Tukayyid ends and things go back to normal.

Just fyi, I approve of Tukayyid in concept, but am disappointed with the execution of it. I really think that PGI needs to fix the glitches in its game before it starts trying to build anything else on an already shaky foundation.

Now it's your turn! Are you liking Tukayyid and enjoying? Or are you disliking it? What are your reasons? Let the Devs hear your feedback!

As to the event itself, it's..eh, it's OK, but that's it. The que times are horrible but that's to be expected I suppose, didn't have any problem at all getting with non-CW drops, almost instant with no more than a 30 second wait being the longest non-CW drop so far this weekend for me.

Lots of newbs dropping in CW for the event, and that can be hard on the nerves, sensibilities and taste. Being IS, I'm seeing things like Hunchs with Streak2s and lots of Trial Mechs being used. Lack of basic knowledge of gameplay, like firing Meds at targets 800+m out, firing Streak2s at targets 1km out, etc, VERY frustrating to watch, and when I try to give some free advice, I get rather rude responses.

I've also seen some great drops, won a few Counter Attacks and Defense, and had quite a good time in those drops, even set a new personal high score in CW with over 2000 damage and still had fresh Mechs in the dropship.

As to the issues you personally have Nightmare1, those aren't bugs with the game, those are issues with YOUR computer not being able to handle what's on the screen, sorry. My fps and ping are nice and steady, no warping, no lag, no drops in fps around the orbital cannon when it's firing, even with 20+ Mechs being on the screen at the same time in heavy combat including Arty/Airstrikes going off.

MWO isn't exactly easy on the system, CryEngine 3 is very resource hungry. There is an updated version that is more optimized, but since it removes ALL support for DirectX 9, PGI isn't going to use it any time soon, way too many players are still using the 32 bit exe and running DX9, they'd lose a lot of their playerbase. If your system has a 64 bit OS, try using the 64 bit exe for MWO, it seems to help a lot of people who are having issues like you describe. If that's not an option for you, sorry, there's really not much that can be done until you upgrade your OS and hardware to more current standards.

Challenges should be harder to get, they SHOULDNT be made harder because the system is failing. THATS the difference here

You cannot do that without taking a hit to your contract... it is hard enough earning points without needing to lose them when breaking a contract.

im still surprised that people dropping solo complain about long wait times in a mode that is designed for units and large groups.
normally you are able to learn from mistakes or old problems but many seem not to be able to do that.

only god knows why.

then crying here does not help you or any other one of this game. get a unit or use the LFG tool.
if you cry about getting stomped by groups and units that regularly play together and do some trainings. your crying is totally useless and unnecessary.

also if you are sick of waiting go to the clans they obviously lack numbers at this point but they dont lack good units.

what me sickens the most are pugs that just drop to get 80 matchscore and do nothing overall. it screws up so much more than all the premade vs pug matchmaking because they dont plan to play with the other players, just for themselves. CW cant work like this at any way.

I don't cry about being stomped by groups, but I do think this event has proven yet again that PGi can barely produce the basics a game needs to be interesting, if this was anything but the battletech mechwarrior universe, their ineptitude would have killed this game a year ago

I've been enjoying it. Not sure why, but my solo drop wait time was about 10mins on average. Smooth gameplay through out.

I'm not sure if it's the specs on my new rig that affords me the smooth gameplay, or if it's the pristine OS with nothing else on it...or if it's the 32gb Sandisk ReadyCache that prevents any hiccups by cacheing the OS and game.

The first CW centric challenge/event was great, because it pulled in masses of players, and they could spread out among the various planets. This event is meh, because its confining everyone to a single planet, granted with more drop slots, buts still fewer slots than normally would be available, resulting in all sorts of issues.

Not a fan.

The math is simple people.

1 match every hour on average giving me an average of 500 xp to each of my 4 mechs and paying an average of 300,000Cr

Vs.

6 non CW matches in an hour on average paying a total of 480,000Cr, that's about 80,000Cr per with an average of 3000 xp for a single mech per hour

Take advantage of the sale for MC and premium time and maybe buy some stuff with it. Otherwise don't waste your time.

So it sounds like most people had a sub par experience. Except the large premades. Funny that!! Been like that for a long time now!

I couldn't join in due to work commitments but being either playing as a solo or in a small premade I'm glad I missed it. Pity had a lot of promise.

It's way too easy to spawn camp - Dropships are currently way under gunned.

They have to be, otherwise attacking is impossible. In a very close attack game the dropships can actually sometimes decide a match by stalling a push or by weakening a component. They're fine on Hellbore because they just prevent spawn camping a bit, but on something like Boreal where they can't be avoided they just ruin your day especially as a light mech.

The personal challenges was badly set up, assuming the game takes 25 minutes to complete, that's one point. But for the final reward that's 50 points, that's 20.8 hours of gameplay for the final reward (give or take) but it won't be that easy i am implying you get a point every game so you may as well throw an additional hour or two onto that giving you nearly a solid day worth of playtime for later rewards. Meanwhile This is taking place mostly during the week, depending on how good you and your team are you need to get 3 and a half hours worth of game time per day on average to get the final reward.

Take all this into account, is it worth it to you?

At first I was shocked at the wait times. They I joined a unit, and we started picking up pugs with LFG. So, the wait went from >30 minutes due to pugs dropping, to 30 minutes with our 12 man.

That being said, its been a great experience in joining a group. The coordination that CW requires is way more fun than just pugging.

So, the lopsided waits are crazy and not fun at all. I've put 24 hrs into this game this weekend and I have 22 out of 50pts. 24 hours...thats a *ton* of time, and I should have played way more matches in that time. However, the matches that I have played have been more fun than usual. So, its not a failure, but its been a mixed experience to say the least.

Would it be better if PGI created a couple more of Tukayyid sections (ie Tukayyid 1, Tukayyid 2, Tukayyid 3) with the same amount of sectors (63) for each planet?

These sections could be inferred to as continents. Who ever wins the majority of the continents (2-1 or 3-0) at the end of the week wins the planet.

This also may allow more players to get games quicker but it probably would mean ghost drops instead which would cause it own set of forum topics...

Cheers!

Will only help in peak times, im seeing sub 5 min drops guaranteed though most of those are just praying we don't drop vs a leet unit that mops the floor with us. Almost at 10, half of those points from losses. had 2 stomps bad enough that most of our drop missed out..........

Not game to go near it on my is acc, but i feel sorry for you guys. I'll be keeping on keeping on but only because between the faction rewards, the event rewards, and what i'm grinding out from matches it's gearing me up faster than the open queue hands down

never tried it before, is it possible to queue dodge if you see that your enemy is a full premade? full premades shouldn't ever be matched vs solo players

nope, and dropping the match locks your mechs till it's done. On top of that if you drop out while in the queue you push the rest of the group you were in to the back of the queue. People around here tend to remember names for things like that
