How do I join the CW queue? I'm looking to participate in tarkyyad and everything seems to be going fine. I'm looking at the "you are ____ in line to drop" and I'm around 15, but I suddenly get kicked to 33. Why is this and how can I drop in CW faster as a PUG?

Select the planet (right menu). Edit list of mechs you bring and save (default are trial mechs). Click the Attack or Defend button.

Now wait. I usually tab out while waiting.

There is nothing you can do to drop faster as a PUG right now, unless you join a 12 man CW group.

as far as why this is.

You can try to make use of the LFG tab (Looking for Group).

Make sure to select I believe the second option (for CW) to join the queue, so that you can see other players also looking to group, get one to 12 and you should drop faster.

Use the LFG tool, some TeamSpeak hub or your friends list to make a 12-man team and drop with that. Will reduce your waiting times to typical CW levels of 10 to 15 minutes.

Stop playing solo, and never go back. CW is a team based tactics game, and even the regular random games are 9000 times better with friends.

I'm also looking to poke around in CW and see how it is. I've only got one owned mech though. Would I be using a bunch of trial mechs to fill out the rest?

This thread was a big help for me. Got into a couple of CW games faster.

Yes you would need to drop with trials to fill out the rest of your CW dropship. So, your one mech, three trials.

Might I suggest dropping in a trail you don't mind losing first. This gives you a chance to figure out the map and your teams play-style so you can more effectively use your one mech better. (I do this as well, drop one of my okay mechs first, and safe the good stuff till I know my enemy and my allies, so I can more effectively scrap mechs.)

Yes. Some things to be aware of:

-EVen though clan mechs are usually good, their trial versions are pretty horrible, so an all-trial clan pilot is not much of an asset to his team

-IS trials are somewhat decent. The Raven 3L is actually pretty good.

-Since you will be in subpar mechs, put some extra effort into teamwork to compensate your less optimal ability tp go toe to toe with enemies.

-LRM boats are useless in CW. Especially IS LRM mechs are dead weight that could just as well be replaced with trial mechs. Clan LRM isnt quite as bad, but I would not use them either.
