I used to just press escape, options and turn gamma all the way up. But they disabled that option.

dunno why anyone is downloading a program to change gamma, you can usually just do it on the monitor.

I cant remember the name of the program but I tried it once - and only once - just to see if it works and yeah its like the day map. Its crazy how far you see.

HPG manifold has ridiculous hitbox issues with the terrain. You can't hit anything right along the edges of higher ledges if they are looking down on you. You have to aim several pixels higher away from it for the beam/weapon/etc. to go up and over it to do any damage.

I was playing in a CW game yesterday on the cold map and I was totally under cover but ppl were shooting me through the terrain -.- That gets old FAST

My monitor has presets. There is one called "gaming" with the gamma jacked right up and can see pretty good on river city night (I hardly ever use the night vision)

I remember a time when you could shoot through the dropship on Frozen City, so it doesn't surprise me that that a similar issue could exist on a CW map.

Yeah but that was way back in closed beta. And I think you walk through the ship (which didn't really look like a ship--more like a black mess) and use to to be invincible.

Crazy. I guess they never learn.

This was happening to me today in CW.... People were shooting or trying to shoot me through rocks or boulders on that canyon map.... I did not see it but someone else mentioned it on my team.

Something is going on... because today I was cored in all my Stormcrows.... CENTER TORSO... and nothing else... in a few matches.... all 3 Stormcrows in same game.... Also some people were using Stalker 4N as long range sniper.... killing people 1000 meters away constantly with head shots...

I wish I could record my games

I think the issue must be that someone has developed an effective aimbot .. either that or there is some specific data accessible client side that could give a player an advantage.

Examples
- if opposing mech location data is sent to the client at all times whether they are in line of sight or not then it would be possible to hack the client to show all opponents on the map all the time.
- swapping mech textures to highlight hit boxes ... particularly the head ... and then tie this to an aimbot that aims the targeting cursor at the particular colour or texture substituted.
- anything that is not server side authoritative could be hacked ..

what about hardware solutions? an arduino leo can emulate keyboard/mouse/joystick for example and you can do some pretty nasty cheats with one. but the computer only sees a bunch of usb hid class devices.

You're over thinking things.
All you have to do is answer this very simple question: "would other players think I was being Dishonourable McDishonourableson if they found out I was using it, and would they then want to shove my keyboard into a medically inappropriate location?"

Not "could it be detected?" (because that's you being worried about being caught) or "why should I give a monkeys?" (because that shows poor empathy and disregard for the other players) or "but they too can use this thing" (because that leads to escalation). Those don't matter.

Just ask yourself "would the average player consider my usage of this thing to be giving me a Dishonorable Advantage".

And if you're answer begins to involve "but they wouldn't know" then pause and ask it again assuming that everyone else would know.

It really, truly is that simple.

That isnt too suspicious really. If someone had a radar lock then people will shoot at the middle of the red box even if they cant see what is there.

If the shooter had an oceanic or worse ping that could just be delayed reaction dmg applied because it took too long doing the math between his client and the server. I see it regularly, killing blow animations and notificcations happening up to seconds after the weapon and dmg animation stops. I while i dont doubt there are issues i swear a lot of the hitreg complaints are just dmg applied after players are expecting it to be.
