Locust, Wasp, Stinger (a little less than Wasp), Phoenix Hawk, Rifleman, etc. All the original old-skool 3025 tabletop stuff. But MOST OF FREAKING ALL, the WARHAMMER. Lack of that mech (despite the initial teaser video for MWO) is my single greatest disappointment in this game. Warhammer was f***ing MONSTER.
And god forbid you be allowed to customize the loadout for it for a match. No infantry? Cool. MGs GONE.Swap the PPCs for ERLLs, swap up SLs to MLs, or SLs and MLs for MPLs. Get crazy with the Cheez Whiz!
Locust? My favorite all-time drive-by body piercing machine (8/12 movement, IIRC). RIDICULOUSLY hard to hit at a run, and too low-firepower to have to sweat overheating. Again, given the option I'd drop the MGs to swap for a MPL in the CT, and either a BIGGER engine or more armor.
Also, Archer and Rifleman in a fire support team with a RVN-3L droppin' TAG spots on enemies for that long-range fire support. OR a Crusader for the Archer if I had to sneak in a couple tons.
And don't even get me started on the rare LAMS-permitted match. PHOENIX HAWK LAMS WRECKED FACES with that ridiculous mobility!
Of course, if armor was allowed, hand off fire support duties to vehicles like Shrek PPC carriers, put up as many Warhammers as can be had, run rolling sniper lines until armor starts to peel off, then close for the kills.
WARHAMMER is the single most missed mech in this game for me. I want it so bad. I'd gladly trade all my Locusts and Jenners and my beloved 3L Raven and some of my clan mechs, for just ONE 3025- standard Warhammer. Don't judge.
Also, Mad Dog. It was somehow a LOT more effective in TT, and it just freakin; looks like a badass machine of "PWN your team, bang your girlfriends".
