I have been playing since last December, this game for some has a steep learning curve.

Last night it all came together, the whole company went for the center of the volcano on Terra Therma. Normally this is a bad move as 3 LRM boats can really ruin your game when they guard the two good passes to the center.

We got there 1st they pushed in HARD this is the part where I thought the wheels would come off as everyone scattered to cover. But no our second line pushed back then followed them out. I faced off against 6-7 enemy mechs. The 1st Stalker I ran into went down in a blaze of LP& MPL fire with an LB2-X AC round or two thrown in for fun. After that it was all a blur as mechs went down or I overheated.

After the game was over the announcement told me that I had achieved 5 kills. If you hit with a feather I would have fallen over.

Congrats! I still remember my first 3 kill game and ended the days where I struggled to get even one!

It is nice when things click.

Congrats!

I remember when things started to click with me too. It's rewarding, in more than one way. Enjoy the adrenalin rush!

I've broken the 6 kill threshold once (in the chassis tourney strangely enough), and hit 5 kills only a handful of times. I hit 5 at least twice this weekend, including a game where I had to get the last kill for the team.

Honestly, to get more than 2-3 kills, it requires a bit of luck along with good skill and a good build. It requires your team to usually help you wear down the enemy, encounters where you can get the kill, and for those to occur several times in the game. It also usually requires you to be in either a heavier mech that hits hard, or in a lighter mech while the enemy is distracted with bigger targets.

Kills are slightly overrated as a display of skill, as a better display of skill works into your team winning with you playing your role well, but they're always fun to get. Congrats on getting 5. It definitely feels good.

Congratulations!!! That gives new players hope that they will have a breakthrough as long as they stick with it. I hope you have many more in the future.

This.

Kills are not really an accurate representation of skill. There have been many times I have gotten the lucky last shot after someone else did all the real work. And the reverse has happened even more often with someone else sniping a kill out from under me. IMO, the only kills that "count" are solo kills.

That being said, I do feel proud of myself if I can get 4 or 5 kills a game. I save those screenshots. I think I had two five-kill games in the last week.

Good job man. It is always a good feeling when you break through a glass ceiling. When I got my first 5 kill game, about 4 days into playing MWO, I immediately started celebrating. I hope that you continue to play the game, improve upon your skills, and break many more of those ceilings in the future. Again, congrats man.

Congrats on the kills. its always nice to see you got a lot of kills at the end of the match. Though it involves a lot of "help" from your team normally. A mech just cant take the pounding to get 4 or 5 solo kills.

I had a great match the other night, conquest, mining colony map. it was a real close match the whole way, i ended up luring 3 mechs to me (in a direwolf) so i was able to kill them (they were each cored) and help secure a win. but the whole time i was thinking "one more shot and i am going down" but in a direwolf it isnt like you can outrun anyone, just had a good position.

I have not had any more 5 kill games but have had a few 1-3 Kill games recently.

Dire Wolves are great when you face 1-3 enemy but a lance usually will crush you no matter how much heat ya throw.

haha i never forget the battle you see in my signature.... that bloody lrm direwolf that i harrassed the complete battle and finally killed as it was 2 of us vs 5 of them... and both of us survived.

it was also my first 1k+ damage battle.

even more special that i only had 28 alpha on that mech at that point..... do the math how many shots it takes to do 1068 damage :o and how many minutes of fighting.... it made me nuts.

these are the battles you never forget =)

i wish you all get these moments =) thats what i play for.

I thought I was the only one struggling getting the kills. But when I got 11 assists with my locust yesterday, "the hell with kills!" go teamwork! ^_^ I think thats my greatest achievement so far since playing couple weeks ago.

Congrats, I hit the five kill mark the other day. It does feel good. I have yet to break the 1k damage ceiling, but I will. I'm seeing 700 to 800 damage in pugs. 300 to 500 in CW with my buddies. This sounds bad, but in reality its a good thing as it means our damage is evenly spread out and everyone is contributing.

I have played off and on since this thing got off the ground, got the mechs to prove it. After playing very seriously since December I am only just now feeling the click. This is a great game and it's rewarding to those that persevere. I love the tactical and strategic aspects of the game as well.

Congrats again! See you on the battlefield mechwarrior!
