The Oxide

I own every light Hero mech, apart from the Oxide.
Now, I don't especially get along with Jenners in general (I don't know why either), but I'm debating getting it to complete the collection, but, is it really worth it, how does it play compared to regular Jenners / other lights?
Pros / Cons etc?

Its a great mech if in the right hands. However it is very short range to be effective and is still a Giant CT on legs. If handled right then its a pain in the arse, however if you turn a corner to find a dual AC 20 Jager mech

Huginn > Oxide
The quirks on the Huggy Bear is just outrageous. My Oxide wishes it ha those quirks. YOu can not go wrong with the Jenner F C
Normal Build for it

Oxide has the higher Alpha, but Huginn has JJs, doesn't have the Jenner huge CT problem, and can deal almost the same DPS with just 2 SRM4 launchers, leaving much more room for extra ammunition, which directly translates to higher damage potential per match. This makes Oxide perhaps slightly better for hit and runs, but in practice, at least personally, I'd always choose Huginn over Oxide.

In a 1v1, Oxide vs Huginn, myself and another good player, the Huginn won nearly all duels. The Oxide is better at alphas and then evading. Huginn is good for strafe runs and staring at targets. Two very different play-styles.

But the oxide is a great mech, but takes lots and lots of practice you have to be the master of Shoot n Scoot and DO NOT stay to play.

I don't recommend the Oxide unless you have a personal interest beyond performance because being ammo only and no JJs makes for a hard to enjoy mech.
Attacking opportunities like the backs of assaults is not a simple straight forward tactic, you have to not get killed by her allies instead of herself.
Support the game but I just wanted to give you my thoughts on it since you made a thread and all.

And probably better.
Seems like apart from completing the 'collection' there isn't much reason to get it at all.
Debating the Jester too, but same thing... I can't think of anything I couldn't do the same in my Firebrand.

Well, the Jester can mount an even bigger engine (in a chassis quite safe for XL engines), and JJs. If you like high maneuverability, it might be worth a look.
