I'd have to beg to differ to whomever says c-ERPPCs are useless and/or nonviable. I run a c-ERPPC un-quirked as my primary weapon on my main mech and I have a blast. I suppose a buff would be nice for encouraging more players to use it (laser vomit builds get a bit old) as well as giving heavier mechs an incentive to run them. Running single c-ERPPCs on lighter chassis is most definitely rewarding though. My 800 damage games on my single ERPPC Kitfox can attest to that.
Perhaps setting the spread to 12/1.5/1.5 would bring it up to snuff? The advantage to ERPPCs is their front loaded nature, not their damage to heat ratio. Combine that front loaded projectile with a tonnage light mechs can afford to carry and you've got a little monster. A Kitfox armed with a c-ERPPC can keep it's exposure time at minimum while still achieving respectable DPS; that survivability means he's around longer to take more shots, and unless you get steam rolled out of the gate that usually makes up for the difference in DPS.
Edit: If you use the ERPPC long enough, you'll learn to lead the long range shots and the velocity will become a non-issue : p . I'm actually scared of a big velocity buff, it'll make them a lot more deadly against Lights at long range.
