So i have the ilya, firebrand, misery, and heavy metal. I am wondering what Hero Mech aside from these is really good? I was thinking of getting the Yellow Wang but I like the hunch back with ac 20 better because the ac 20 is higher up. There is one more day for the sell and i have a lot of mc that has been sitting here for a while. Which hero mech do you guys suggest to get? I don't play lights.

YLW is a nice mech. What's your preferred play style? I own all the hero mechs but taylor each to my style and some do that better than others.

The Misery is one of the best IMHO.....

I was thinking about the Wang, but I think I like the AC 20 hunchback better, because it fires faster and I like the height the Ac 20 is at.

These days I like playing with auto cannons. I don't like lasers boating too much. And I don't take lrms.

If you don't mind the Gauss charge-up, and you like Hunchbacks, the Grid Iron has one heck of a fast firing Gauss rifle. Just keep in mind it's wicked gauss quirk COULD change at some point.

I personally like my Jester, but i'm sure it is hit or miss for many. To me it's a hit, but I just love a just under 100kph Catapult with JJs and 2 LLasers and 4 MLasers. It'S just so wicked fast and maneuverable. Sacrifice a couple heat sinks, and you could also run dual AMS. Only real gripe is of course the soft CT.

Just a couple of options.

I will say this though, people do love the Yen Lo Wang. It still might be worth considering.

If you want an AC20 Hunch, there's no better than the standard 4G. If you will keep the Gauss, then that's where the GI really shines.

Personally, I LOVE the HBK, own them all and they are the best overall medium chassis.

What's the chances they will reduce the quirk on the Grid Iron?

Somewhere between your chances of winning the lottery and the chance you'll still wake up tomorrow.....

In other words, who knows.... Very good chance it'll change at some point, but how much and what?

Don't buy mechs for quirks.... Buy what you like.

YLW is probably better than the 4G if you're a good pilot. The speed and agility are pretty much unmatched.

The IV Four is probably better than the DRG-1N if you run a STD engine - better side torsos and can't lose both ACs at the same time. Also, better energy quirks and missiles if you want em

Huginn is interesting. Its delicate but its a good flanker and the bane of unsuspecting assault mechs. It will have trouble with fast movers if you dont have good aim. Plus the 3L and especially the 2X are both great Ravens so getting your Master wont be too bad. I discovered I liked the 2X more than the Hero mech I shelled out cash for.

Yen-Lo-Wang is awesome, and if you learn to twist right, not many mechs will out tank the Centurion.

I have been very happy with my YLW. Now that it's mastered, its become even more fun. I'm always surprised at how long it'll stand up to punishment. That is so long as I am twisting and protecting the AC20. But with two MPL, it does a nice alpha and doesn't overheat too fast. I run it with an XL and it'll do 100KPH.

Currently it looks like you have all the good ones. Huginn is the only one I would recommend spending money on now, since it's quirks make it stupid fun if a bit of a risky brawler.

Yen-Lo-Wang is also very fun, but most people have learned to shoot the arm off before you get a chance to use it. Grid Iron is a terrifying gauss sniper in the right hands, but also fragile. The rest are either mediocre chassis, or their cbill variants are better.

I have the Pirates Bane, Anansi, Huginn, Ember, The Arrow, The X-5, Grid Iron, Jester, Heavy Metal, Boar's Head.

Pirates Bane is fun, fast, and it has ECM! The only problem I have with it is, those MG's blind the hell out of you, but overall it is fun!

Anansi is kind of my redheaded step child of Hero mechs. I rarely use it. But it does have potential! Plus it's speed and Dual AMS means your a fast moving Anti-missile guardian.

My Huginn is, by far, my favorite mech.It is also my most used mech. You can take out Assualts backs with ease with this mech. I normally run my Huginn with 4xMG's and 2xSRM6's with cooldown module, but I've went scummy and are taking advantage of the SRM4 quirk! >:D

The Ember was just recently bought so I haven't really played around with it to much.

The Arrow is my fast moving MG god.

My X-5, I haven't really found a sweet spot build for it yet but the speed + the 4 MPL's I have on it seems to be working for now.

The Grid Iron spits out Gauss like no ones business! I normally accompany my HBK-4G with my HBK-GI in my CW dropdeck. (I love Hunchbacks. They are good fun, and have that aggressive look to them.)

My Jester is my fast moving laser machine, but as stated above the CT is kind of on the soft side.

The Heavy Metal is actually quite a bit of fun. It feels extremely slow though, and the JJ's on it really do suck, but it was something that I looked past easily. And it comes with free warhorns! :b

And lastly, The Boars Head. It's a fast Atlas.. Very fast Atlas. But it does come at a cost.. Still fun to use on occasion.

Huugin and Arrow are solid hero mechs, and the first I'd recommend outside of what you already own.

Honestly, if you particualrly like or do well in a chasis, then get the hero for it.

FOTM will change, but if you choose on taste you'll always have something you enjoy.

In terms of 'best hero' atm, you're only really missing the Ember / Huggin.
(and PB, but you have to Locust really for that)

Just recently got the GI and honestly, not liking it...here is why...

Ya, it spits off gauss incredibly fast...BUT you lose that benefit if you torso twist away....so, you have to keep the nice big right torso on target to take advantage, and if your target is in any position to return fire and knows where to aim, well....you know what happens to that easily exploding weapon.... :/ - I think you are pretty much better off taking a shadow hawk with a high mount ballistic point and get those jump jets (and more weaponry to boot) over the GI....just my early thoughts. :/ (but it does work great if you can catch somebody who cant! :P )

...but I am actually considering dropping the guass on it and doing an alternate build.... :o

So I'm thinking this:

1. Yellow Wang
2. Grid Iron
3. IV Four

And I'm debating getting the La Minche. The La Minche I know the other Banshees are better, but I think 3 large pulse lasers with an ac 10 with the heat efficiency and cooldown quirks might make a solid dps better then having perhaps 6 large pulse lasers that can sure do quicker damage fast but not good for sustained dps. I know one down side is that lasers are on arms too while on torso on the other banshees.

I have about 11000 mc, and this sale is a good sale, so this is why I want to buy a bunch of hero mechs.
