Does it dance every time I get a kill?

It talks and moves random during the Game and it comments your Gameplay.
And it replaces the Bitching Betty with his Voice + integrated Warhorn: maybe laughing wehen you kill an Enemy.

A sabre hung across the top of the cockpit please, and get those monitors working for the love of all that is holy. Would be awesome to actually feel like you are in a mech that .. works.

That blue giant star from viatric forge as a hologram

A Map of the Month hologram with the players name spinning. Given to the player who designed the best player created map that was tested on the test server each month. As voted by other players and final vote given to the PGI staff.

A rear view camera This could could tie into the monitors even. I know FASA did not have these but we can break cannon a smidgeon. Damage to the rear of a mech could break the camera resulting in static on the monitor

A radar detector. Could even beep or have little red lights that light up as you get closer to an enemy mech

A combat knife. Big, fark off, shiny one. The kind that lets the enemy know you mean business.

Spoiler

Also, why not a pet? Parrot, cat, monkey, small dog...

Also, books. anything from lore-inspired titles to actual classical literature (Moby **** would quite likely become a fan favourite).

There are a lot of ideas about fun cockpit items in this topic. But do we really need another set of useless decorations in the cockpit?
We need something useful, something what is lying on the surface, something what wasn’t implemented before due technical reasons… and something what EVERYONE WANTS AND WANTS TO SPEND MC ON THAT.

We have a “Toggle Cockpit Item” button. It’s time to put it to work.

I’m talking about:

“Toggleable Monitor (standing cockpit item)”.

Features:
  • Body counter / Kill-meter.
  • Regular Rear view.
  • Thermal vision Rear view.
  • Night vision Rear view.
Description:

Modes are changing successively, by pressing the “Toggle Cockpit Item button” (TCI button). The Monitor itself should be 4:3 or 5:4 in dimensions of battle for Tukayyid banner, like “AUTODETECT NO” monitors. At the beginning of the match it should be in “Body count mode”. It will be like participating in mech startup sequence – each pilot will press TCI button, to leave parking without colliding damage or creating traffic jams. Thermal vision will be the most popular, due to small dimension of the monitor it will be hard to recognize small details, but big bright spot without friendly triangle will warn you that enemy has some unpleasant plans related to your rear armor. Night vision will be useful on maps like Terra Therma.

Suggested price 300 MC (like a mechbay).
Don’t be greedy. If you put a high price people will cry that it’s P2W. But thanks to MWO events, Tournaments and MC sales – 300 MC price will be affordable for everyone. And it will be definitely worth a try for that price. And after that people will buy at least 3 more for Community warfare drop deck. Look at the Battle of Tukayyid Statistics, top 3 IS mechs is heavily quirked. Those people definitely will like something that will give them even smallest advantage. And those who own 50+ mechs and have tons of unspent MC will be glad to outfit their favorites. People will buy and spend MC, and this is where you make money.

Possible enhancements and future development:
  • Different frames. (Faction style frames, golden frames, covered by barbwire, etc.)
  • Wide-angle high mounted monitor. (Like rear view mirror in the car)
  • Additional hanging monitor - friendly mech scanner. (Works like auto target lock – stare at friendly mech for a couple of seconds, and it will show a paper doll with armor and weapons status.)
Conclusion:

I hope that money that will be earned that way will be put in good use.
In the end it all should lead to reviving lostech which is in front of our eyes all the time, the only cockpit decoration we truly need – cockpit monitors, those that show now only “AUTODETECT NO” message. For free of course.

(Sorry for any grammar mistakes. English is not my native language. I hope you get the idea.)

"How about something to go on one of the blank monitors. Even if it is completely static image."

This ^^^

I make prolific use of the Luminglass item, simply because it fills up "dead space" in the cockpit.

Would like more. Just DONT making it a Standing item (am keeping my luminglass!) Have it use the Hanging or Mounted bracket instead.

Better yet, create a new bracket called "Panel" that has 3-4 different layouts that fill up *all* the dead space across the cockpit, high and low. Maybe even where it says "Mission Kills Zero" you could install a current kill/damage readout.

How about one of these? Make it glow in the center, when you die it explodes.

Could also just be a clock or a calendar.

its the wormhole generator from the movie contact.

or maybe a miniature mouse trap, but like the old game,

Posted Image

Not quite the same... maybe just a spinning Farris wheel type thing, the s curved marble run, and the Cone that drops down on the mouse... a small model could easily be done, make it brass or copper colored.

Hey Mechs could get mice after all.

How about a mini Frankenstein Looking Mech, put a Jacobs ladder behind it and put a name plate, "My first trial mech" dress it up in a Franken looking pattern. Sitting on a nice wooden base Make the neck things glow of course.

how about a bunch of stalkers lynching a spider.

If my Spider Ballerina somehow was´nt serious enough, i´ll propose this:

Posted Image

Not entirely sure about safety, keeping a huge a** sword in your cockpit...
A sheathed Katana might be handy aswell.

Crushed mini-mech head\skull
Mini-mech head\skull with a gauss hole between the eyes
Range target with holes in the chest and head
Zombie Mechs (Gotta shoot them in the head to make them dead)

I know there's licensing issues but Dancing Groot. (and yes it's serious! Everytime we kill someone, he dances!)

That comes awefully close to a line in the Australian ANZAC speech given every ANZAC day "Lest We Forget" and has been for nearly 100 years, as an Australian ex-serviceman I would take a huge objection to it, for me and some other ex-servicemen and some of those currently serving it could be seen as a trivialisation and/ or insult to our honoured dead.
Yeah, we Aussies do get serious about somethings.

Thus the "They" reference. We have a Highway dedicated to our fallen soldiers and it also say's "Lest "we" Forget". The distinction is quite apparent but I guess your right. We should also honor those who would see "us dead" as well. ;)

P.S. MWO is not real as well right? Fictional Universe and all. ;)

I second the sword idea ... have different swords for the different houses... a katana would be nice looking or a samurai type above the window.

I would love to see some models of non mech vehicles.
For example a demolisher battle tank or areo space fighters.
Union dropship would also be great. There are multiple more posiible designs to go for.

And they could be somehow animated like the urbi thing on kill.

Btw, I would throw even more MC into a mech hangar where I can run around between my mechs :)
