I am helping someone tonight and can't get a private match. What am I doing wrong. Yes I have premium.

The full team box is greyed out and can't be altered.

For matches less than the full team size of 12, BOTH team captains must have active premium time. And have taken company command of their team even if 1v1

For a private match whether one on one or in a small group of less than 24 players, you will need to have at least two people with premium time (PGI reasoned that it is using a match server for private use and so it helps support them) assigned as the 'captain' or 'commander' of each team.

If you need help setting one up while I'm active on the forums, drop me a message and I'll pop on MWO to help you get a private match started (may as well... accidentally activated over a year's worth of premium time by incorrectly attempting to activate 30 days; my condolence prize? ....more premium time in the bank. Not that I mind, but so much on that clock. o.o ).
