All you need to do it look at the Cicada. It has no real role, and that's exactly what's going to happen to the IFR. It's the only mech that does what it does for the clans right now, and it's still bad and rarely seen. Once the ACH comes out, it's game over for the Fridge.

I think the kitfox will be safe as a slower "protect the fatties" mech with its stupid amounts of srms/lrms and other things it can carry plus you know the 3ams/ecm thing if its done right by a dedicated pilot.

Adder/Lynx/Ferret yeah for the most part they will go the way of the jenner when the firestarter came.

The FS9s did not obsolete the Jenners when they came out - the JR7-F was still one of the top picks of lights (along with the Ember).

It was only until quirks came did the FS9s come into the forefront. Before quirks, the only FS9 you saw regularly was the Ember and the JR7-F was still popular.

The ACH will obsolete the KFX, MLX and IFR completely, because those Mechs are not good and PGI are too scared to quirk them to viability (well, the KFX isnt TOO bad, but will still be obsoleted by the Cheater)

The Adder will keep a niche for its weapon loadouts.

Erm, might work until they have their basics.. after that though? Slower, less firepower, less heat dissipation, no ECM (unless you have NO firepower).. hows that going to work out?

Except the Cicada 3M has great quirks, whereas the Ice Ferret has **** all.

It has just as much if not more to worry about from the shadowcat tbh

TW, TW, CAT, CAT for an mixed ecm scout/rush with bite in the godwolves
TW, TW, CROW, AC for max meta firepower
oh and
EJ, HBR, HBR, CAT for ecm coverage (the ebon jag is only in there for the added firepower tonnage it brings over the hellbringer, can sub in a third hbr for maximum ecm annoyance)

Edit: for that matter you can also go
EJ, EJ,EJ, CAT trading tw jj's and durability for 3x the pod loadout rather than 2

The new CW map is so JJ friendly its crazy, im SO looking forward to dropping 12 Shadowcats with ECM on hold territory on that map. 12 invisible ninjas jumping from building to building with LPLs and PPCs will be so much fun.

I'm smaller and I can fly, plus my fixed BAP takes care of ECM, usually. It's unbelievably fun to hop across tops of buildings or whatnot watching an ECM mech try to figure out why his equipment isn't working.

Ultimately there's always going to be that 5-ton disparity and disadvantage when comparing the two, so at some level sure, I expect the Arctic Cheetah will be better (man, what will I do with my Kit Fox when it comes out...lol). But with BAP, 6JJ, 4cSPL, and 120+ kph, for only 25 tons the Mist Lynx makes a superb ECM hunter.
